Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 3 : Girl Of Steel – Nobara Kugisaki

Halloween is around the corner and, the anime that have recently released are all in the horror genre. Out of all of them, my favorite would have to be Jujutsu Kaisen.

The series is so catchy, feels modern, the animation is top-notch and, the story is one of a kind with a new perspective.

Welcome back to another anime review. Today we will be discussing Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 3.

Nobara Kugisaki is the third first-year enrolled in Jujutsu Tech. Itadori, Fushigoru, and Gojou have arrived at the airport to escort her.

At first glance, she is a nit-picky girl, judges people before she gets to know them, but there is a certain ‘sweet’ relatable factor to it. Satoru Gojo is also one of my favorite characters. He is funny and insanely powerful at the same time.

He promises Itadori and Nobara a trip around Tokyo but, they stumble upon an abandoned building in Roppongi and, it turns out to be a test.

According to the logic behind jujutsu sorcery, graveyards attract curses because of the emotion instilled in people regarding ghosts. The stronger those emotions are the, stronger the curses will be. The main difference between a big city like Tokyo and the countryside is that curses’ strength is directly proportional to the population density of the area.

Gojo has gifted a blade to Yuji to cut curses down in an instant, and Nobara has weapons of her own. This anime sticks to its ‘basic’ genre, horror. It skillfully develops the eerie atmosphere that the story needs. Curses, voodoo, and such satanic practices are the name of the game.

Yuji comes into contact with a spirit and, he takes him down in quick succession. His physical attributes are a plus point to his skill. As he is inexperienced in dissipating cursed energy, he makes that up in an athletic and innate sense.

Nobara is the central figure of this episode. It is the first time meeting her and, making us fall in love with her in the first episode is a feat in itself. She uses nails infused with cursed energy to destroy a demon who was masking itself inside a mannequin.

A boy emerges out of nowhere, scared, and not knowing what to do. A cursed spirit comes from behind and takes the boy in his custody. He threatens to kill him and, Nobara has no choice.

Nobara has had a hard life. Her friend was ostracised from society and made to leave home for not following the belief of some people. It had a horrifying effect on Nobara. She is almost about to give up her life when suddenly, Yuji smacks open a cavity in the wall.

He grabs hold of the kid and rescues him. The cursed spirit is about to escape and in the knick of time, Nobara saves the day. She uses voodoo and pierces the cursed spirit’s hurt, in turn, subduing it.

Both of them have excelled at their tests, and it is time for the next step. The dynamic of the group is very happening. Even if the anime is horror and cultish, it brings to it a certain level of relatability.

It is enjoyable for the fans, and it also sticks to the source material and never waivers away from it.

In the last scene, a disturbing event is showcased. A floating cursed fetus is seen by normal humans. The story shifts in a different direction and, it might not be something we fans can handle.

Until next time. See ya!

Boku No Hero Academia (OVA) : Ikinokore! Kesshi No Survival Kunren Episode 1 & 2 – A Review

Hello Everyone!
Welcome back to another fun-filled anime review.
A few days back Boku No Hero Academia dropped off 2 episodes which were OVA. Being a Boku no hero academia fan, waiting for season 5 of the anime was excruciating. This OVA is a Godsend.
Let’s dive in.

Boku No Hero Academia is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kohei Horikoshi. It revolves around Midoriya Izuku and a superhero society in which everyone wishes to be a Hero. Midoriya Izuku who has gained new powers joins UA and his journey to becoming the number 1 hero begins.

For those of you who don’t know, OVA are extra episodes that display events that transpired between the timeline of the series. This OVA highlights various events in the 3rd season of the anime, before the Provisional Hero Licensing exams.

Class 1-A of UA has been under attack ever since the start of its first year. Countless villains have tried to kidnap, kill, or even destroy the heroes’ dreams but they have strived to get through all the hardships. The teachers thought that the students getting a provisional license in the first year would safeguard them from further attack due to this very reason.

Their goal is to enter a broken down mall and rescue a civilian dummy. The class split into two teams must race against time to conquer this course.

The best thing about manga/anime like Boku No Hero Academia, the creator stresses to give importance to all characters. Each character’s quirk is essential to the plot and these episodes have executed that flawlessly.

By compatibility in quirks, Yaoyorozu Momo and Ida form the first group, Midoriya, Uraraka and Tsui form the second group, and Todoroki and Tokoyami form the third group. Bakugo ignores everyone and rushes headfirst into the scene. Kaminari and Kirishima rush towards the scene.

After they enter the complex an unprecedented earthquake shatters all the floors. Our heroes fend off the destroyed pieces of debris. Quickly, they realize that instead of being rescuers, they have become victims of the accident that need rescuing.

Bakugo and Midoriya are like 2 sides of a coin. Their goals are the same but their methods are different and the resourcefulness these two have, unparalleled. Bakugo wishes to switch on the electricity so that the elevators could work to transport the civilian dummy. As Kaminari and Kirishima are talking about them saving each other, Bakugo supports Kaminari, his friend, and encourages him that his time to help has not arrived yet. The emergency power can only restart with his help.

The situation turns grim when our heroes find out that Ida collapsed due to an accident. They have to be skillful in moving the debris so that it doesn’t collapse on each other. Momo and Midoriya devise a scheme to help everyone out of the complex.

One by one they face off against issues using their quirks. Slowly they calculate and think of what to do. Uraraka and Tsui, along with Momo transport Ida safely outside. Midoriya tells Momo to make a rope ladder so that the other can escape that way as well.

In the basement, Bakugo and the team find the emergency power room. Kaminari charges it up and gets it back on. Their obstacles increase from there on out.

The main highlight of this episode was Bakugo and Midoriya. During the provisional license exams, Eraserhead tells Joke that his class is always supported by 2 pillars. Bakugo and Midoriya bring out the best in them and make the class want to fight harder. This whole OVA created a valid reason for that statement to be true. Without Bakugo’s resourcefulness and Midoriya’s thinking, they could not have won against this obstacle course.

This OVA was worth watching because it highlights every character and creates a sense of relatability with the viewers. There are some heartwarming scenes and many funny ones. Bakugo really cares about people but doesn’t want to show it.

Aizawa has a plan set to make them understand the importance and dangers of such exercises. He executes it very well and wishes the best for his students. He might seem moody and hard on them, but he cares for them really damn much. In conclusion, this is a must-watch OVA for all Boku No Hero Academia fans.

Until Next time. See ya!

Is Boku No Hero Academia : Heroes Rising Worth Watching?

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to another exciting post of anime reviews.
I know I haven’t covered any of the seasons of My Hero Academia in the blog and I apologize for that. Let this be a start in that direction.

Today we will be discussing My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising.
Let’s dive in

Boku No Hero Academia is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kohei Korishiki. It is a very popular anime loved by millions around the world. It revolves around Midoriya Izuku and a Superhuman society where everyone has powers. Midoriya does not possess ” a quirk ” or a power and he gains one from the no.1 hero “All Might”. He aims to be the number one hero through struggle and determination.

Boku No Hero Academia: Heroes Rising is an action-packed movie in which a villain named Nine seeks to bring his plan to fruition. Shigaraki and the leagues of villains plot to bring him to their side for world domination. Endeavor and the heroes disrupt their plans.

Nine and his team escape and aim to steal quirks. As the name suggests, he can store 8 different quirks in his body and the one quirk he has is absorption.

Class 1 A of UA Hero Academy is authorized to go to Nabu island according to the hero association. They must serve for 1 month in that island as part of a practical hero project. With so many attacks upon this particular class the teachers are hesitant to leave them.
They are even told that they will be the only ones on the island and there will be no pro heroes.

Nabu island’s exact location is somewhere in the southern part of Japan. It is a secluded island and the crime rate is almost non-existent. Our students do hard work day and night, protecting the civilians and helping them. The students go through a true hero like experience there.

Katsuma and Mahoro are siblings that are targets for Nine. After stealing their father’s “quirk” and finding that it is not compatible with his body, he sets his sights on the siblings.

Katsuma has a cell activation quirk and he feels that his quirk is not enough to be a hero. Midoriya understands this fact more than anyone because he was quirk-less. He encourages the boy and says “Let’s try our best. ” While this is being said, Bakugo looks on with interest when Midoriya conveys his beliefs. Both of them understand what each other wants to achieve and they act in coordination. It’s a wonderful sight to witness.

Nine and his band of villains infiltrate the island. They take out all the communication, transport, and all modes of escape. The students have to step up to solve this issue now.

Nine’s accomplices attack each sector of the island. Chimera goes against Todoroki, Iida and the other at the beach. Mummy goes up against heroes at the Hero agency. Slice takes out all modes of transport at the docks.

Nine instructs them to handle all the heroes so that he can peacefully go and steal Katsuma’s quirk. Midoriya finds the children and puts a halt to Nine’s plan. One for All’s power seems appealing to Nine and he attempts to steal it. He is not able to steal it because One for All is only transferrable if the user allows it.

Bakugo also joins the fight alongside Midoriya. The fact that Bakugo and Midoriya can work together after a lot of fights shows that the characters have grown so much. The comradery is visible between them. The fight escalates and Nine eventually reaches his limit. The other heroes come to the scene and rescue the children.

Our heroes are all battered and bruised. Katsuma tries to help Midoriya and Bakugo because they saved his life. The whole class devices a plan to stop the villains. They very well know that the villain and his power is out of their league. As the only heroes on the island, they realize they have to step up to defeat this villain.

Our heroes coordinate and attack and separate the accomplices. Bakugo and Midoriya face off against the villain while his accomplices are nowhere in sight. There is a potential spoiler to where I’m leading this article, so I won’t emphasize that too much. They work in unison to take down the villain.

The main highlight of this movie is the friendship and trust between Bakugo and Midoriya. The plot has been set in such a way that each character quirks showcased pave a bright future for our heroes. Todoroki was never a team player but we can see him working together effectively. Uraraka has reached new skills and she implements them confidently. Every character has reached new heights and the teachers can be proud of their students. They were against adversaries far greater than themselves but they fought against all odds to achieve victory.

This movie by far the best in the series. I would highly recommend everyone to watch this movie. It has a great premise, an exciting storyline, and great animation. The fights are one a kind and each second is nerve-racking. Until next time. See ya!
