God of Highschool has been a rollercoaster ride of fights, emotions, and all-out excitement. The preliminary rounds are over and its time for the next section. A wide array of characters included, but still, the main highlight is Jin Mori, Yuu Mira, and Han Daewi. The ‘new monster trio’ if you may have been wrapping tight strings around our hearts pumping adrenaline as well as tugging to bring out emotions.

Jin Taejin, Mori’s grandfather appears and like all anime dads, he is incredible. The quote we had been hearing for so long has been uttered from himself. ” There is this one thing I tell my grandson. Do whatever you want.” he says. He is strong, tenacious and someone who does not mess around. Nox, the evil cult featured in the previous episodes, has surfaced and asked Jin Taejin to join their ranks. He declines and puts a dent in their army.

Park Mujin explains the source of power that our trio has faced off against in the past. Seongjin and Q the commissioner were users of Chakreyok, harnessing the powers of ancient animal gods and controls them to fight. The announcer visits Mira and he tells her to not lose hope, train harder with the moonlight technique, and perfect it. Mori meets with an old man who wants to train him in the fighting.

‘ The Six’ a group of martial art experts are on their way for a meeting called forth by Park Mujin. They are members who excel in their form of fighting. The landscape of the world is shifting and this meeting’s necessary. Park Mujin tells his former master about JIn Mori consuming a ‘Sage fruit’, which contains some kind of power.

New characters introduced, many have faced certain mishaps which shocks the fiber of the GOH commissioners and it finally lays the foundation for its extended universe. In 6 episodes that GOH has become a spectacle and the pacing is incredible. It might not be going in the ways of the Manhwa but still, piece by piece the puzzle is being formed and it will culminate into something epic. The national tournament begins!!!

God Of Highschool Episode 5 : Ronde/ Hound – A Review

Hey everyone!
Welcome back to another fun-filled anime review.
Today we will be discussing God of Highschool episode 5

God of Highschool has proved to be a force to be reckoned with. Every episode is a marvel to watch. The creator Yongje Park and Mappa studios may have created a spectacle that is engaging as well as emotional.

In the last episode we were left shocked and trembling after Han Daewi and Yoo Mira clashed fists. She was overpowered and taken down brutally by Han Daewi.

Photo Courtesy : God of Highschool episode 5

Han Daewi has been a very complicated character from the beginning and none of his tournament friends know about his past. The reason he is fighting in the tournament is to save his friend who is hospitalized with an incurable disease.

Photo Courtesy : God of Highschool episode 5

Woo Seungtae and Han Daewi were friends who fought against the world but with the world turned against, it calls for some drastic measures. The past is showcased a bit in this episode and how their friendship bloomed.
The past is seriously a defining element for character development.

Jin Mori meets Yoo Mira in the hospital after her brutal fight. She is a considerate friend and understands that something must be going on with him as he is acting this way. When Yoo Mira was about to marry Seongjin, Mori and Han came to her rescue. Without asking for help they exactly knew what she was going through and reached by her side to help her. She understands and wants to do the same for him.

The anime’s pacing is really good. Character development plays a great part in this and they have got that correct. Mujin Park offers an ultimatum for Han Daewi’s request. He makes a deal with him and the conditions say that he has to win the semi-finals as well as the finals to truly help his friend. We understand the reason why he was acting out like that against his friend.

The fight between Jin Mori and Han Daewi was something from fairytales. It blew my expectations right out of the water. Mori understands that he is in a lot of pain and purposely holds back so that he might be able to take out a little bit of his frustration on him. Daewi goes all out and pummels on Mori. Neither of them is backing down.

Mujin Park comes to the side of the ring to deliver bitter news. Han Daewi’s friend has passed away and this puts a toll on him. Jin Mori goes all out on Han but he has no fight left in him. As Jin Mori is about to put out the finishing blow on Han, Mira comes with a loudspeaker in hand. She tells Han to keep fighting on and not to give up. She gives him a letter from his friend who passed away.

In it contained encouraging words that fuelled the flame in him to fight more. Jin Mori understands and acts accordingly.

The fight from this point is so innovative and so exciting that no one would be able to sit on their seat. It takes you to the edge, raises your heartbeat, and pumps the adrenaline in you. They both go all out in the end but the victor is none other than Jin Mori.

The most touching scene in this episode was when Mori picked him up on his shoulder and Mira got his other side. Some friendships are infinite. Misunderstanding cannot break them.

An aloof Han Daewi has finally taken his friend’s advice and puts trust in people. Trust in people is reciprocated back and forms a great bond.

Many people mistook this for an all-out brawling tournament, but it’s much more than that. Each fight, each move represents an extension of one’s emotion. The beautiful comradery between the characters is what makes this anime worthwhile. Episode 5 has set the standards high for the upcoming episodes. Looking forward to more of this.

God of Highschool Episode 4 : Wedding / Bond – A Review

Hey everyone!

Welcome to your daily servings of anime reviews.
Today we will be discussing God Of Highschool episode 4.
Let’s dive in.

Introduction:

God of Highschool is a Korean Manhwa written and illustrated by Yonjge Park and produced by Mappa Studios. It revolves around JIn Mori and his companions who take part in an all style fighting event to be the number one in Korea.

Synopsis and Review:

The past few episodes have been filled with fighting scenes that leave us speechless. Of course, some parts were there that was heartwarming but we had not gone in too deep into one of our main characters Psychi.

The episode titled Wedding / Bond revolves around Mira Yoo. Mira, Jin, and Han are seen walking down the footpath going to their homes as usual after the tournament. We get to know that the next round is the semifinal and one of the matches is going to be Han v Mira. Right at that moment a stranger approaches them and asks for Mira’s hand in marriage.

Photo Courtesy : God of Highschool episode 4

We are shown the inside of Mira’s home where she is seen picking out a wedding gown from brochure along with her little sister.

Mira was proposed by the owner of a wealthy sports company and one of the best martial artists in the world Seongjin. He approaches her because he is fascinated by her abilities and her lineage towards the moonlight sword. He promises to her that if she marries, he will bring back the moon sword style and make it the greatest in the world. He also tells her that he is the only one who can do it in a rather sinister fashion.

When Mira was a little girl when she lost her father and his brother took responsibility for her. She is the only living heir to the moon sword style. In an attempt to take on his late brother’s tradition, he becomes a teacher to train people in the art of the moon sword style. He fails and that leaves a disturbing image in Mira’s mind.

In the present, Mira’s guardian meets the guy she is going to marry. He asks as of what intentions he has in marrying her. She is a child. He says that he had seen potential in her and he tauntingly tells him that he wants to revive his families tradition. Bad vibes come out of him.

Jin Mori is seen confused about what burger he should order. He gets to know from some bystanders that Mira is getting married to Seongjin. Mori goes to Mira’s house to confront her on why she is getting married. After each passing episode, you start falling in love with Jin Mori and start relating to him. He is strong as well as a good friend who only wants to do good things. He’s like a new Goku. 😀

Mira getting into this marriage for an ulterior motive other than love depicts an immoral aspect of our society. Some people are forced into marriage as an ultimatum towards a larger goal and it defeats the purpose of marriage. We can relate to Mira because she is a strong woman who wishes to do anything for her father’s tradition coming to fruition.

Jin Mori talks with his friend Han. He explains to him that everyone has their perspective of things and we cannot change it. So it is better to not get involved in this.

Mira wears a wedding dress and is ready for betrothal. Her uncle recollects certain memories from the past. We see that Mira has sacrificed a lot of things so that she can attain her goals. Her uncle has seen her through some trying times still putting up a strong face.

Her uncle goes to the groom and tells him to call off the wedding. He explains to him that she is not mature to make decisions yet. She tells her uncle its alright and she is happy. Her hunger for the attainment of her dream has set her on a wrong path and her sister, Suma regrets that she couldn’t do anything to sway her off her disastrous path.

Jin Mori and Suma try to enter the stage but they are blocked by Seongjin’s bodyguards. he tries to get through them but he is threatened by them.

We get to know that this is all a ruse set up by Seongjin. He is a part of the evil organization that was introduced. Their main motive is to acquire the moonlight sword and its heir who can wield its power. It is a relic that can control God as mentioned by the organization’s leader.

Han Daewi arrives to set things in motion. He takes down the guards and proceeds to the staging area along with Jin Mori. Jin and Han enter fashionably inside the staging area to stop the wedding and to convince Mira to get out of this marriage.

Seongjin attacks them with a katana but his attempts are thwarted by Han. In this gap, Mori tries to convince Mira to not marry the guy.
It is endearing to see the characters’ friendships bloom. This series tries to flush out their characters one by one. I realize that it is more than the fights and emotions behind each move are what make this anime golden.

Mira’s uncle and her sister, both support her and only wants what’s best for her. They form a supportive influence on Mira and are the main reason for removing imaginary shackles of tradition.

Photo Courtesy : God of Highschool episode 4

The words Mori’s grandfather says and what Mira’s father conveys strike a very strong similarity. They are different people yet their beliefs are the same. To do what you want and to follow your path to fulfill your destiny creates a special bond between these two and I believe that fans would be loving this.

Photo Courtesy : God of Highschool episode 4

Seongjin retaliates against all three of them as he unlocks a different kind of power. The three of them had seen this power in action before in the tournament and they know that this does not end well.

Mira gets cut by his sword but in a counter-measure, she uses Moonlight sword style No.6 monkey arm to send him flying and decimates him completely.

She lets go of her past insecurities and looks on to the future. With the help of her new friends, she attains a new sense of happiness.

Photo Courtesy : God of Highschool episode 4

This happiness is cut short when Han’s friend in the hospital goes into critical condition. A few people bully him in the office he worked in and trash talk on his friend. Something inside Han snaps and he incapacitates them.

The ending of this episode was quite disturbing. When we thought our three main characters were bonding, Mori sees that Han has gone on a rampage and taken it out on Mira. She is left in a pool of blood and the referee had to stop him to avoid any more injury. Everyone wants to reach the top and there is no place for friends there.

Photo Courtesy : God of Highschool episode 4

He challenges Mori to meet him in the finals and he accepts. I would love to see how Mori handles this issue in his very carefree way.
Can Mori snap Han out of this dismal state?
Or will it consume him and make him a greater threat in the future?
Tell me your opinions in the comments below.

God of High School: The new generation of anime arrives

Welcome to my review on episode 1 of God of High School.

God of Highschool is a webtoon Manhwa that has been adapted into anime by Crunchyroll and produced by Mappa Studios. It is written and illustrated by Yonjhi Park.

This first episode truly blew my mind. Every frame and every second of this was mind-boggling. It was so gripping that you would not apprehend the complexity of what occurred and how did it end so fast.

Introducing the characters:

The first episode introduces us to the main 3 characters of the show Han Daewi (voiced by Daisuke Namikawa ), Yu Mira ( voiced by Ayaka Ohashi), and Jin Mori(Tatsumaru Tachibana).

Premise and Plot of the show:

The basic premise of the show is that a martial arts tournament is held in Seoul, South Korea to decide who the best fighter is in all the high schools combined. All three characters posses different fighting styles and many more characters are being introduced who are unbelievable.

The animation in this is flawless. Every fight scene has been meticulously choreographed and the wait was worth it.

Every punch, every kick, and every emotion has been accurately portrayed.

This is the start for the anime but leaving the premise for this anime something is lurking in the shadows that have not reared its head out. It adds to the excitement.

The first set of scenes showcases a chase scene where all the three main characters coincidentally meet to stop a thief who rides off on a motorbike and it starts with a badass fighting sequence.

The second half of the anime starts with the tournament and I am not going to give you spoilers. Keep your eyes open to falling in love with martial arts.

My review:

Overall the first episode was more than what I expected. Being a fan of Tower of God, I had my hopes up pretty good and they took me to the top and send me flying high, wanting more. The first episode deserves a 10/10 for its delivery and you guys should check it out definitely.

Please like this post and comment on what you thought about the post. I would love to have discussions over this. It is a must-watch.

Please suggest me some good anime to watch and review as well. More content is on its way. See you soon.
