Hello everyone! Welcome back to another anime review.
Haikyu to the top cour 2 epsiode 2 is back and, it’s going strong. The series has been going fast-paced as expected. In each episode, almost three chapters are adapted.
To recap: The Miya Twins left us stunned. They effectively copied Hinata and Kageyama’s freak shot and left the Karasuno team gasping for air. The trust between the two brothers is key to this move. The one hitting the ball knows that the ball will be there for them no matter what.
Inarizaki continues its decisive and bold game to subdue Karasuno. Karasuno doesn’t back out even one bit. The thing about Karasuno is that they adapt to situations and always try to do new things.
When Hinata tried to jump as high as possible and awed both teams, alas to their dismay, he failed to hit a shot. Even amongst strong teams, they want to prove their metal and take out the opponent team.
Coach Ukai devises a plan to stop the Miya Twins momentum. He places Hinata as a blocker on Osamu Miya. He is the receiver towards the unique freak quick and, that’s their best chance at defending.
As they go on to hit the ball, Osamu’s attempt is thwarted by Karasuno’s no. 10 Hinata Shoya. He leaps, blocks, and scores from that shot. The atmosphere in the stadium changes into an ecstatic one in an instant.
Hinata has jumped leaps and bounds since we first saw him. From a kid who wanted ‘to just spike the ball’, he has learned to love the defensive aspects of the game. The way he sets an underhand set to Azumane makes us proud of him. He also blocks the ball in such a way that Nishinoya was given an opening to receive the ball. Instead of instinct, Hinata is using his intellect and experience to face strong opponents.
My only concern about the animation is that they aren’t getting Hinata’s eyes right. In the manga, it’s more filled with passion, determined and bold while, in the anime is has been downsized to show us a character who is determined but a little bit crazy. In some scenes, they do capture the beauty of Hinata, but in most, they fail to do so.
Kinoshita is given a chance to shine in this battle and with the motivation given by his coach, he manages to serve the way he wants. His shot was commandeered, but no worries, he learns a lesson to get better as much as possible.
Tanaka manages to get his shots through but he seems to struggle a lot while doing so. His motivation and energy are being slowly tarnished by the resilient Inarizaki court. It is a glimpse of what is to be seen in the next episode.
Tsukishima has always been a salty diva amid the Karasuno team and, he hasn’t changed one bit. What has changed is that he tries to do things more and does not half-heartedly to stuff. He blocks the quick with immense pleasure because he has always wanted to stop ‘the quick’ that Kageyama and Hinata does. He also jumps up to the highest point on Kagayama serve to score a point.
Yamaguchi is up on the line and ready to serve, but to his surprise, he does not have a point to reset his mind. The sign is blocked by a banner. The mentor saves his pupil by presenting himself with a new reset point and, our boy gets the service ace.
This episode was brilliant with new animation and everything. It is a surprise that an anime could be this good. The Haikyu anime is one of the best in the world and no one can get enough of it. Can’t wait for the next match. The score is tied. Who will catch hold of the momentum? Will Tanaka ‘be pushed’ to the limit or, will he persevere and take back his mojo?
It’s is an exciting week for the animeverse and, I welcome you all to an exciting anime review. The wait is finally over. Haikyu To The Top Cour 2 has finally arrived, the anticipation is brewing.
Being an avid manga reader, I have to save ever since reading about this match, I’ve been ecstatic about the anime. How will they amaze us with the animation and Yuki Hayashi Senpai’s music in the background?
Those answers have been delivered and, we’re off to a great start.
A small recap. Inarizaki V Karasuno is the penultimate starting leg to this fantastic tournament. Atsumu Miya amazes everyone with his finesse and crazy serve. The double wielding abilities that help him in serving the ball have Karasuno up against the corner.
Worry not because our boy Hinata is up for the challenge. He gets ecstatic just like us and jumps as high as he can but forgets to hit the ball. It’s an embarrassing moment, but at the same time, we all felt what he felt. 😀
Atsumu and Tanaka have the same reaction to it and, I love every single part of this coincidence.
The new opening is really good and it will grow on you after 2-3 listenings.
This episode was all about laying the groundwork for this match. The rhythm of the game keeps changing and on the problematic end is Karasuno. Whenever they serve, the crowd boos and hisses at them, and the beat they use is to put them off their rhythm and make them miss their shots. It’s quite an effective way of throwing off your opponent and, Inarizaki is cautious of that.
After a long time, our freak duo gives us back the magic. Hinata runs up first into the middle and does a slide hit. The freak duo is back and, that’s what we’re here for. Hoshuimi’s expression is the funniest. He didn’t expect someone like him in this tournament. Bokuto is proud of his pupil and, the game is on!!! The first hit is always a killer.
The episode is rightly named rhythm. The whole premise of this episode relies on the rhythm. One-half step or beat missed can spell doom for either team when playing. Inarizaki does not just consist of the team on the court, but they also consist of their cheer squad exerting pressure on the opponent team. In a way, Inarizaki is broadening its reach to bring the game in their grasp.
Inarazaki team’s servers have different rhythms. Rintaro Suna serves at the exact moment as they blow the whistle startling the opponent team while Osamu waits until the end of the 8 seconds after the whistle to throw Karasuno off their rhythm. This way, they create gaps in the defense and disrupt the balance. It doesn’t look like much in the beginning, but slowly and steadily, they are paving a path to deceit.
Saeiko Tanaka, the savior of rhythm, has arrived. Ever since reading the manga, this is one scene I have been waiting to see animated. Her entrance, along with her group was a game-changer for Karasuno. Flutes and Teiko drums provided the team with a steady rhythm to match that of Inarizaki’s. She wouldn’t let the same mistake that happened during the Interhigh final.
Daisho Suguru is the captain of the Nohebi Academy Volleyball team. For those of you who don’t know him, I suggest you watch him in the Haikyu Ova Riku vs. Kuu. His match with Nekoma was a deciding factor for their arrival in the nationals.
Haruichi Furudate is a skilled author. He inculcates volleyball terms and rules into the story in a smooth narrative way. Suguru and his girlfriend are the ones who will narrate all that we need to know in the match and all the upcoming matches. This method of commentary is what makes Haikyu’s flow going and make it worthwhile to watch and read.
As Hinata goes in for the service, to neutralize the effects of Inarizaki’s drumbeat, Karasuno’s cheer squad plays a soothing drum beat to help him out. It’s all just as I imagined. Perfection!!!
Hinata uses his intuitive skills to position himself in the right place where the block has an opening. He goes to receive the ball, but it misses his hand and hits his leg and is still in play. He gets a bit embarrassed, but he tries to rectify his mistake and plays decoy, to pave a path for Captain Sawamura to spike the ball into Inarizaki’s court.
It doesn’t waiver Inarizaki from their path not even a little. Inarizaki is a well-rounded team. They have players who play to perfection. Atsumu Miya was a setter who was called to the Japan Junior camp along with Kageyama. Every stance he takes before a set, and his double wielding of serves are something close to a miracle. Even Kagayama himself acknowledges this skill. The final blow to destroy Karasuno’s morale is being devised by Atsumu and Osamu Miya.
Atsumu serves, Nishinoya lifts the ball, but it’s short and, Azumane can’t properly hit the ball. Inarizaki’s libero grabs the ball and, Atsumu Miya does something crazy. This scene sends literal chills down my spine. He sets the ball exactly the same way as Kageyama sets to Hinata. The weirdo-quick set is no more ‘special.’ Atsumu and Osamu Miya have synced and concocted something sinister to defeat Karasuno.
How will Karasuno respond? Will their morale be destroyed or, will they step up to the challenge and take away this advantage from Inarizaki?
After a long gap, we are finally back with the Haikyu!! Manga. It’s pretty hard to write manga reviews because what you read and feel cannot be directly conveyed. The vision of the author is something I cherish. I like each and everyone to feel what I feel and embrace the feeling.
The Haikyu!! Manga has been that for me. We will be shifting our focus for some time from Karasuno to Nekoma. Karasuno and Nekoma are parallel to each other. While one team, considered as an offensive, go-getter team, the other is a defensive team, smart and calm.
Chapter 265: Meanwhile, the laziest cat
The Nekoma team discuss with each other situations in which their team has grown. Kenma has always considered himself to be an introvert and a guy who kept to himself. Kuro is the one who changed all that for him. He got him into the sport of volleyball and they have been inseparable ever since.
Kuro starts reminiscing about old stories. He remembers Kenma used to go to sleep after a really difficult practice session, or an intense match. He felt guilty that he dragged Kenma till the nationals but he feels something has changed inside him. The fact that he might be hooked on volleyball amazes him.
Kenma gets involved in the conversation. “I don’t have any big driving reason to continue… but I don’t have any reason to quit either,” said Kenma. He is a genius but was not motivated the first time we see him. He has crossed leaps and bounds and his goals are immeasurable. He also tells his teammates that he does not want to be a sweaty guy but wants to grind for levels if he can.
Kuro believes that Kenma considers Hinata as a final boss he has to face to clear the level. Kuro has high hopes for this fine battle. The day of the match begins. It’s Nekoma V Sarukawa Tech. Both of these teams mainly focus on defense. The coach of Sarukawa Tech is a former player of Nekoma and that gives them an advantage. He knows all their moves and what they might do.
A match in which both defenses are strong. Not one person is letting go. They’re upping the ante. Its a test of time and perseverance. The goal that Sarukawa is looking for is to take out the brain of the Nekoma formation.
Chapter 266: Cats Vs. Monkeys
The roots of Nekoma’s team formation is not so fine as it seems. Kenma and Tora’s relationship starts off to a rocky start. Their ideologies are so different, yet their goals are the same. Kenma as we all know is an introvert who has very little motivation to do anything. Tora is a hyperactive teenager who believes in guts and determination. He is similar to Tanaka from Karasuno.
In their first year, both of them go through different journeys. Kenma, even though he is lazy and not so motivated he is natural at volleyball. His setting is spot on and reaches the mark. Tora tries hard but is not able to rise to the occasion. It creates a rift between these two.
They develop and become good friends and rivals. Kenma changes a lot due to the influence of Tora and his determination. The team that Nekoma is against is trying hard to make Kenma move and run. They figure that if they tire them, there will be more openings in their defense. Even so, they strive to adjust according to the changing conditions of the game and rallies to defeat them.
Chapter 267: Trap
Nekoma is neck and neck with Sarukawa. Sarukawa has been trying to get Kenma tired and mess up their formation but Nekoma has been trying to acclimate themselves so that it won’t happen. Defying all odds, Kenma sets the ball, and it’s a smashhhh!!!!!
Suguru explains that it’s not an easy task to indirectly pressurize the setter. To do that the team would need a great defense themselves and perseverance. Sarukawa’s game plan is incorporated in such a way to do just that.
It becomes a very grueling battle for Nekoma. Their setter has been pushed to the limit but holds strong to receive balls. His sets are all over the place but Nekoma somehow tries to get the balls and scores. Both sides are standing tall, Kenma falls and Sarukawa has gained an advantage there.
Sarukawa’s coach being a pupil of coach Nekomata puts things into a disadvantageous perspective. He remembers the words by Coach Nekomata who said “volleyball is about constant perseverance and repetition.” You repeat the same attacks, blocks, and receives over and over and it puts indirect pressure on the team in front. This same idealogy has been used against him in the game.
Sarukawa believes that the momentum is in their hands, but Nekoma rallies with their lives on the line and scores. The score is even now but neither team loses confidence. The next rally is the most interesting. Nekoma botches a serve and it goes up next to the net. It lures the blockers like ‘moths to a flame’ and just when they notice Kenma sends the ball to the opposite side to finish it off with a smash. Everyone is shocked. The manipulation games by Nekoma is one to look out for. How long have they been doing it is the question.
Chapter 268: Kenma Kozume’s Stubbornness
Nekoma is far ahead of their observations. They knew from the beginning that Sarukawa has been trying to tire out Kenma. They devise a plan to counteract this. Ever since Set 1, it is a miracle that Nekoma has been manipulating the other team.
The author forms teams in such a way that the team itself possesses an individual personality. In the case of Karasuno, they are offensive and an all-out crazy team. In the case of Inarizaki, every one of them is a master at their craft. When it comes to Nekoma, they use more of their brain than brawns. They can afford to play mind games as well as defend and score all the time.
An on and off battle wages on between both teams. They want to end things quickly but that is not the case. Its a test of perseverance and the momentum will go to the team that will grab this rally. Nekoma is faced against a team consisting of the same ideologies. They are careful and execute simple plays to score points.
Kenma realizes that guts and determination may not be what it seems like. In video game terms, it is equivalent to physical and mental statistics being powered up to max. This analogy is what leads him to do the next set. He positions himself in such a way to do a perfect set and Nekom scores.
He always says that his team is good not because he is in it but for the fact that they are all in it together. That is what volleyball is all about.
Chapter 269: Monsters
Andddddd!!!!!!! Nekoma scores. They win this round and qualify for their next battle. Frivolous pleasantries are shared between the teammates. Kenma stepped up and helped his team win. He hilariously tells his team that he went to the distance so that he can avoid the 3rd set. It was a big no for him.
As he looks far into the distance, he tells himself that he did all this grinding to reach the main boss, Hinata, the main boss in his game of life. For the first time in his life, he wants to play a game that will be life or death.
Kuro is a good friend and he feels that if he plays like this, he can improve even more. He firmly believes that Hinata is the only one who can bring out the aggressive side in Kenma.
Set 2 of the Karasuno V Inarizaki match continues. The score is 14 – 7 and Nekoma has come to see their rivals play. Nishinoya is backed into a corner. He is being targetted by Atsumu Miya’s float servers. Inarizaki tries to target the Guardian angel of Karasuno to depreciate their morals. The Humiliation of getting picked on is being faced by Nishinoya. Will they succeed in destroying Nishinoya or will he rise to seize the day?
Hello Everyone! Welcome back to another adrenaline-pumping anime review.
Its been a long time since I’ve discussed Haikyu and the Inarizaki v Karasuno game looks exciting more than ever. Volume 30 is the main topic here. Let’s dive in.
Haikyu!! is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate. It ran for over 8 years in Shone Jump and had an explosive and emotional final chapter. The story revolves around Hinata Shoyo, a highschool boy who aims to be the best at volleyball even if he is short. He wants to prove that even a short player can do good in volleyball.
Volume 30 ( Part 1 ) – Analysis and Review :
Chapter 261 : Hidden Surprises
Kageyama tosses the ball from the outer side of the court into Karasuno’s side. Nishinoya is there to receive the ball as always and he tosses it to Asahi. In a brilliant show of strength, he smacks the ball on the blocker’s hand to score a leading point. The score is 24- 23 in favor of Karasuno.
Karasuno with the momentum they have gained goes on the offensive. They receive Atsumu Miya’s serve and tries to set the ball to Tanaka. He gets destroyed by the Blockers and the game comes to a tie.
Tanaka starts to think that he is having a bad day. He questions himself about what he’s doing. He feels that the opportunities he receives are being wasted. This match is building up pressure on Tanaka mentally and his perseverance tested.
Karasuno goes on the counterattack and sets up a back-row attack. Of all the people Daichi executes a back-row attack and Karasuno attains the leading point.
Chapter 262 : Always Fall Forward
It has been an uphill battle for Karasuno till now. The most affected is Tanaka. As his confidence drains in front of his eyes, he recollects past events.
He joins Karasuno in his first year. He was a full-on delinquent looking kid. He respected Karasuno as a powerhouse even though they weren’t one at that time. He swore to help them win no matter what.
The seniors have gone through so much during their first 3 years of Highschool. This is the one chance they are going to get and Tanaka wants to do everything he can to fulfill their dreams. This pressure eventually gets to him and it messes up his serves.
He recollects what he has done the whole day. He continues his stumble down from the top. He ventures through many options as his mental stamina is under attack by Inarizaki.
Chapter 263 : Senpai’s Determination Part 2
Tanaka spikes the ball against the blockers but it goes out of bounds. Inarizaki gets the score. Inaraziki serves the ball and Karasuno intercepts the ball. Tanaka asks for the ball but Tsukishima tosses it to Asahi who smacks it on the blockers sending it down. The score for Karasuno.
The ball is not given to Tanaka and this puts a dent in his head. Amongst players, it is considered an honor to touch the ball but everything doesn’t go that way all the time.
Hinata switches in and boosts up Tanaka’s morale. He says that his blocking is good and he is in good form out there. He is quite delighted to hear it. He understands that he won’t be the best at something in the team but he has always had mental fitness through all the games. It has taken Karasuno to new heights. He realizes that he does get depressed now or then but it can’t stop him anymore.
Tanaka goes on the attack and asks this question to himself. ” Do you have the time to be looking down on yourself? “ Adamant on scoring he pushes on forward.
Chapter 264 : Broken Heart
Tanaka and his friends discuss a potential girlfriend situation. Kanako Amanai, a childhood friend appears for the tournament, and Tanaka’s friends think that he might have a chance with the young lady. He stays true to his love for Kiyoko- San.
An embarrassing ” proposal at first sight ” situation occurs between Tanaka and Kiyoko and it is the most adorable thing that anyone would have ever seen. The first time they met, Tanaka had thought of being a cool guy that no one would talk up to but that all changed when Kiyoko San entered his life and it gives us all the feels.
When it comes to straightforward people, he is one that has been like this since childhood. He is simple and tells anyone what he sees in front of him. Everyone who knows him accepts this fact and it is a trait that helps him grow in the future as well.
He asks for a toss from Kageyama. He tosses the ball to Tanka. They all go on a synchronized run and Tanaka shoots a cut shot out of nowhere. His philosophy of repeat and repeat until you get it right prevails in the end and Karasuno wins the first set of the match. Tanaka overcomes his demons and walks triumphantly towards the second set. His mindset thought the ages have proven to be effective for this exact moment.
Will Karasuno be able to grab the momentum and continue towards victory? Or Will Inarizaki get the better of them? Until next time. See ya!
I’m back with another review. Today I’m going to be reviewing Chapter 256-260 of Haikyu!! Let’s dive in.
Haikyu!! is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate. It revolves around a short boy, Hinata Shoyo who dreams of becoming a wonderful player in volleyball, like his idol, the Little Giant.
Volume 29 ( Part 2 ) – Analysis and Review:
Chapter 256: The Evening Moon
Tsukishima has intelligently and tactically blocked the super-quick of the Miya twins. The whole Inarizaki team is in shock. Their momentum has been rattled by this powerful block. Now its time for Karasuno to get back at them. The momentum is in their hands and the next server is Asahi. He launches a powerful serve, which is intercepted by their libero. They launch an attack and it is deflected by Tsukishima. Tanaka smashes the ball and gets a deflection of the blocker’s hand. Karasuno scores.
Yamazaki serves next and it is intercepted by Sawamura. Kageyama goes straight for a high set and Tsukishima smashes the ball above the blockers at the highest point. Its a score for Karasuno.
Tsukishima has brought the team’s confidence in many ways than one. What was considered as the Kryptonite to Karasuno’s team has been blocked by Tsukishima. The more matches he plays, the more enthusiastic he becomes to play volleyball. He has come a long way from being the lazy volleyball player to a magnificent analyst of the ball.
Chapter 257: Proper
Hisashi Kinoshita, a pinch server of Karasuno walks onto the court. He is a bit tensed and is intimidated by the opponent. They are professional players who have been interviewed on tv and have been a step ahead of them always. More than sports this show focuses on character building and gives importance to every character. Coach Ukai tells him that there are only 3 players on the backcourt and that is all that he needs to focus on. Those simple words give him strength and a riding force to go against the opponents. The float serve goes to a nasty spot but Inarizaki digs it up.
Coach Ukai and Hinata had plotted out a plan to stop Inarizaki’s super-quick. As Nekoma’s Inouka commit blocked Hinata, they wanted to use the same tactic on Osamu Miya. They figured out that the shot was actually a temporary one and they can only spike it from the right side. They set the ball and Osamu Miya strikes the ball but Hinata Shoyo is there to block him. The best part of this manga is that the drawings move. The jumps, the positions, everything is detailed and brings a sense of excitement. This is exactly why it is one of the acclaimed sports mangas in the world.
With that wonderful serve, Karasuno pulls through to make the score even. Everyone is shocked when a short guy jumps in front of a six-foot player. Unfortunately, the celebrations shortlived. Inarizaki in consecutive moves takes away the momentum from Karasuno. Their adversaries are always fast on their feet and utilize every opportunity they get.
Chapter 258: Experience levels
The experience gap between Karasuno and Inarizaki is visible. It cannot be denied and to fight it is a herculean feat. The team realizes this fact and they engage for a counter-attack. Coach Ukai suggests that the team tries” the lost in the crowd” approach. It has been effective against so many opponents and its worth a shot.
Inarizaki serves the ball and Sawamura digs it. An all-out back and forth battle commences and in the end, Inarizaki gets a net touch foul. They inch a bit more closer to tie the score.
Hinata starts thinking to himself why they aren’t scared of him being in the front row. He recollects all his past experiences and imagines all the scary blockers he’s gone against. He thinks about a kind of block will give them a message. The guardian angel of Karasuno, Nishinoya is the fiercest player in his mind. Hinata paves the way for the ball so that Nishinoya can dig it.
Haikyu!! conveys the kind of thinking process that each player goes through before making a move. All these thoughts happen in a split second. This chapter showcases how Karasuno has defied the odds and stood up for themselves. They convey a message to the readers that if you try things differently, always then opportunities will pop up every time.
Chapter 259: Get’ Em! Get’ Em! Go! Go!
Hinata with his quick reflexes guides the ball to Nishinoya. They do an attack in synchronization and score. The score is now even and the momentum is in Karasuno’s hands now.
Kageyama serves the ball with mighty strength. The ball is intercepted by their libero. The ball is set to Ojiro who smashes through a triple block. There is something quite frightening about this.
Ojiro serves next and Tanaka receives the ball. It goes up but there was a slight miscalculation. Hinata amazes everyone by emergency set and Asahi spikes the balls above the blockers. Score!!!!!!! for Karasuno.
Hinata starts to finally understand that there is more to volleyball than just spiking. The overall development is what he is after and that is what’s driving him. Haruichi Furudate does this for all his characters and that is what sets Haikyu apart from the other stories. A gripping story and growing characters.
Yamaguchi steps up to serve as a pinch- server. He has demonstrated countless times that he can overcome situations and push the team forward. He remembers the training he had gone through before the nationals. A reset point is set so that focus will be crystal clear. Unfortunately, the focus point he had set is being blocked by a banner.
Chapter 260: Desperation
Yamaguchi is in a sticky situation. Makoto Shimada, Yamaguchi’s mentor rushes towards the top of the stands. Yamaguchi is tensed because he can’t find a reset point. Shimada San raises a bag with that says SHimida mart and he uses that as a rest point.
Yamaguchi serves and it goes directly to Ojiro. He underestimates the serve and its a service ace for Yamaguchi. The crowd goes wild and his teammates are ecstatic. Karasuno is in the lead now.
Yamaguchi is one of my favorite characters in the series. We all have been in a position where we doubt our abilities. TO overcome those hurdles is what makes us human, what makes us grow. He is the embodiment of that and shows us all that hard work can pay off.
Yamaguchi serves again and this time Ojiro makes sure to bump it. Inarizaki counter-attacks and Yamaguchi is there to dig the attack but it is too powerful. Tanaka runs behind the ball but he rolls into the wall, failing to receive the ball.
Karasuno is a team that takes every rally to be their last. Giving up a rally is not a luxury they have. They have to go all out to get a point.
A serve by Inarizaki and Sawamura manages to digs the ball. The ball goes out of the court but Karasuno does not have the luxury of giving up. They cant quit before the ball hits the ground. Kageyama runs like the wind to receive the ball from outside the court. As long as the ball does not hit the ground the play is still alive. He miraculously sets the ball from outside the court and inside the limitations of the bar to Karasunos court.
Will they be able to pull off an attack from there? Will they be blocked out? Will tell you next time. Until then see ya! 😀
Hey Guys! Welcome back to another review. Today I will be discussing a splendid manga that I wish I had followed. I recently completed the Manga up to the latest chapter and I am amazed at what the manga has to offer. Let’s dive in.
Haikyu! is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate. It revolves around Hinata and Kageyama, two rivals that end up at the same school. Hinata Shoyo is short and lacks the skill to play volleyball. Through perseverance and training, he proves that height does not matter in the sport of volleyball. He and his team from Karusono Highschool aim to the top, The Nationals.
Chapter Analysis ( 249-255):
The round 2 games begin. Inarizaki High School v Karasuno Highschool. Both teams warm up before the game. The Miya twins show their capabilities for setting and spiking a ball. Our freak duo Kageyama and Hinata show how good they are while performing a set. Inarizaki’s Ace is astonished by the vertical limit of Hinata’s jump.
Atsume Miya serves first. The band playing behind is halted by one single sign and he serves the ball. The first one is out but it does the work of intimidating our team. Kageyama sets the ball to Hinata but Hinata instead tries to experiment with something. The ‘Dun’ jump that Hinata was practicing actually works. He jumps above the blockers and he forgets to spike the ball. He is embarrassed by it but the opponents are astonished by how brave they are to try something.
Their next server Suna goes on a nasty serving spree which puts Sawamura in a sticky spot. Hinata bumps the ball up for Tanaka to spike but he is thwarted by the blockers. Atsume Miya sets to their ace who cleanly smashes the ball into Karasuno’s side of the court.
Suna serves again and he leaves Sawamura in a sticky spot to dig the ball. Kageyama swirls and rebounds the ball from the blocker’s hands. The freak duo commences their attack and score in quick succession. Everyone goes wild in the stadium.
Kageyama serves next and he fails. All their attack rhythms are off-balance. The team realizes that the drumbeat by Inarizaki’s cheering team has disrupted their pace. They struggle to get a grip on the match. Tanaka messes up a serve while the other team cashes in on the opportunity and attacks Karasuno’s Libero Nishinoya. The cavalry arrives. Tanaka’s big sister arrives with a mighty band to smoothen things over.
Saeko Rynosuke’s band starts her upbeat rhythms. Karasuno starts controlling the pace of the game. Tanaka digs a difficult ball and hands it over to Kageyama. He sets a pretty fast set to Hinata and scores. The beat does its job.
Hinata serves, Inarizaki digs the ball and goes for a double-quick set. Hinata is fast on his feet and he analyses the trajectory of the ball. He tries to dig the ball but luckily it hits his foot and bounces up to Kageyama and they do a fast set and score.
The team finds a way to understand the technique behind Astuma Miya’s serve. It is to count the number of steps. He does that and goes straight for Nishinoya with a strong serve. The ball flies right off of his hands. The second time Nishinoya manages to puts the serve up for them to score. In a shocking turn of events, Atsumu Miya does a quick play where he replicates something like the fast play Hinata and Kageyama executes. Everyone is stunned by this shocking turn of events. The unique quick set is no more unique.
After the devastating blow of the quick set being blocked, the team tries hard to get back on track. Serve after a serve, Inarizaki starts growing stronger. Azumane steps up to the plate to serve. He tries out his new technique of clenching his fist to relax it before serve and Karasuno gets its first service ace of the day. Inarizaki performs another offensive play using a quick set. They block Hinata with their blocks as well.
These boys don’t let that get to you one bit. They pulsate like blood vessels and launch a fast attack against Inarizaki. They try to block the attack, but Hinata sees the blocker’s hand in slow motion and spikes the ball to score a point. Tsukishima goes to block the fast attack coming. He analyses his opponents and blocks them completely, providing Karasuno with some momentum to work with.
From the beginning, I’ve always been an anime-only kind of guy but after reading the manga, I’m a changed man. For a sports manga, it’s amazing how they make players and their plays look mighty impressive. All the players of Karasuno high school have gone through hell and back to reach this stage. Other than physical pressure, the mental pressure accumulated on these players is showcased. How they overcome those difficulties and overcome the odds is what makes this manga amazing. Chapter 249- 255 is action-packed and a treat to read. All the anime lovers out there start reading the manga. I know the second part of the anime is coming back in October according to reports, but the manga is truly amazing. It has heart, emotion, and pictures that move. It’s going to be worth your time. Hope you liked my review. More chapters reviews are coming up. Like, share, and subscribe. See you soon.
