Is Boku No Hero Academia : Heroes Rising Worth Watching?

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to another exciting post of anime reviews.
I know I haven’t covered any of the seasons of My Hero Academia in the blog and I apologize for that. Let this be a start in that direction.

Today we will be discussing My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising.
Let’s dive in

Boku No Hero Academia is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kohei Korishiki. It is a very popular anime loved by millions around the world. It revolves around Midoriya Izuku and a Superhuman society where everyone has powers. Midoriya does not possess ” a quirk ” or a power and he gains one from the no.1 hero “All Might”. He aims to be the number one hero through struggle and determination.

Boku No Hero Academia: Heroes Rising is an action-packed movie in which a villain named Nine seeks to bring his plan to fruition. Shigaraki and the leagues of villains plot to bring him to their side for world domination. Endeavor and the heroes disrupt their plans.

Nine and his team escape and aim to steal quirks. As the name suggests, he can store 8 different quirks in his body and the one quirk he has is absorption.

Class 1 A of UA Hero Academy is authorized to go to Nabu island according to the hero association. They must serve for 1 month in that island as part of a practical hero project. With so many attacks upon this particular class the teachers are hesitant to leave them.
They are even told that they will be the only ones on the island and there will be no pro heroes.

Nabu island’s exact location is somewhere in the southern part of Japan. It is a secluded island and the crime rate is almost non-existent. Our students do hard work day and night, protecting the civilians and helping them. The students go through a true hero like experience there.

Katsuma and Mahoro are siblings that are targets for Nine. After stealing their father’s “quirk” and finding that it is not compatible with his body, he sets his sights on the siblings.

Katsuma has a cell activation quirk and he feels that his quirk is not enough to be a hero. Midoriya understands this fact more than anyone because he was quirk-less. He encourages the boy and says “Let’s try our best. ” While this is being said, Bakugo looks on with interest when Midoriya conveys his beliefs. Both of them understand what each other wants to achieve and they act in coordination. It’s a wonderful sight to witness.

Nine and his band of villains infiltrate the island. They take out all the communication, transport, and all modes of escape. The students have to step up to solve this issue now.

Nine’s accomplices attack each sector of the island. Chimera goes against Todoroki, Iida and the other at the beach. Mummy goes up against heroes at the Hero agency. Slice takes out all modes of transport at the docks.

Nine instructs them to handle all the heroes so that he can peacefully go and steal Katsuma’s quirk. Midoriya finds the children and puts a halt to Nine’s plan. One for All’s power seems appealing to Nine and he attempts to steal it. He is not able to steal it because One for All is only transferrable if the user allows it.

Bakugo also joins the fight alongside Midoriya. The fact that Bakugo and Midoriya can work together after a lot of fights shows that the characters have grown so much. The comradery is visible between them. The fight escalates and Nine eventually reaches his limit. The other heroes come to the scene and rescue the children.

Our heroes are all battered and bruised. Katsuma tries to help Midoriya and Bakugo because they saved his life. The whole class devices a plan to stop the villains. They very well know that the villain and his power is out of their league. As the only heroes on the island, they realize they have to step up to defeat this villain.

Our heroes coordinate and attack and separate the accomplices. Bakugo and Midoriya face off against the villain while his accomplices are nowhere in sight. There is a potential spoiler to where I’m leading this article, so I won’t emphasize that too much. They work in unison to take down the villain.

The main highlight of this movie is the friendship and trust between Bakugo and Midoriya. The plot has been set in such a way that each character quirks showcased pave a bright future for our heroes. Todoroki was never a team player but we can see him working together effectively. Uraraka has reached new skills and she implements them confidently. Every character has reached new heights and the teachers can be proud of their students. They were against adversaries far greater than themselves but they fought against all odds to achieve victory.

This movie by far the best in the series. I would highly recommend everyone to watch this movie. It has a great premise, an exciting storyline, and great animation. The fights are one a kind and each second is nerve-racking. Until next time. See ya!

Grave of the fireflies: A story that brings you closer to reality

Hey guys!
I’m back with another review.
I will be reviewing a classic from Ghibli Studios.

Introduction:

Ghibli studios have been at the forefront of storytelling since the ’80s. The traditional animation style flows through time and is relevant to this day. They bring original stories that we could always remember.
The Grave of the Fireflies is an animated movie directed by Isao Takahata that debuted in 1988.
It is a movie about war and the repercussions it brings to relations. The sacrifices and suffering of people are depicted in this movie.
The story is set in the backdrop of a war.

Synopsis:

Seita, a 12-year-old boy is entrusted with the duty of taking care of his little sister Setsuko, while escaping to a bunker to escape the bombings. His mother leaves for the bunker early followed by the brother and sister. As soon as they leave the house, a scurry of bombs falls from the sky demolishing every house and burning everything up. The boy and his sister escape to the shelter.

A meeting spot was set for them to meet with their mother. She did not show up. They leave for a school where the injured are treated and where rations were distributed. There, Seika finds out that his mother was caught in the crossfire and had passed away. He hides this news from his sister and takes care of her. He keeps everything inside of him so that he can see his sister happy. They go live with an aunt where they are mistreated because they are orphans. Food is not shared properly, and life there was not suitable for them. They were considered a burden to them.

The two siblings go and live off alone as they fend off for themselves. Seika wishes to take care of his sister. He steals food for her, he steals clothes and anything he can find to take care of her. Seika finds out that his father also died along with the navy cruiser going down at sea. The children had lost everyone that meant something to them and they only had each other for the rest of their lives. The rest of the story continues as to what consequences follow the children and how they try to live alone in this dystopian time.

My review:

As I was writing this review, I could not stop myself from crying. The repercussions of war are not to be taken lightly. People lose a lot on both sides and the struggles they go through to escape the inconsistencies of life are very hard. Ghibli Studios have made this movie as an eye-opener to people. This movie is not for the faint-hearted. It is going to make you cry, think about consequences to everything. The boy, Seika lost everything. His mother and father died in the war and he was the only one left for his sister. The struggles of the two children will put you to tears and will make you understand what kind of a beautiful life you have. This is a very original and accurate movie that I will suggest everyone watch.

Kimi No Na Wa: Love that defies the confines of time and space

Hey guys!
Welcome back to a new post of Anime reviews
Today I will be reviewing one of my favorite movies in anime history, Kimi No Na Wa

Introduction:

Kimi No Na Wa ( Your Name ) is a Japanese romantic, fantasy animated movie that was written and directed by Makoto Shinkai. This movie is by far the best movie that Makoto Shinkai has directed. He is one of those animators who uses traditional Japanese drawing techniques to create his characters.

It feels wonderful reviewing this movie since its a wonderful day to fall in love. Let’s dive into the story.

Synopsis:

The story revolves around Taki Tachibana, a high school student who resides in Tokyo and Mitsuha Miyamizu, who lives in Itomori, Japan. The story starts with a comet approaching the earth and creating a wonderful skyline in the process. The whole world looks in awe as the comet flashes by their eyes as it makes history.

Our main characters dream about each other after the comet had appeared. Once thought of like a dream, turns into a freaky Friday situation when both of them exchange bodies and live each other’s lives.

Taki goes to school in Tokyo and works a job at a restaurant in the night time. He has a slight crush on Miku Okudera( Okudera Senpai) who works there with him. Mitsuha is also a girl of the same age going to school in a town named Itomori. There she is a part of her family tradition. The premise of time travel and the idea behind it time is very neatly laid down by the director. It gives us a slight idea as to what is going to happen.

Makoto Shinkai has beautifully intertwined the lives of our main characters. They have not felt the touch of each other nor the breath nor the fragrance. It is a relationship truly build from mental understanding. They truly understand each other, the troubles they face and in the process they make each other stronger. They keep switching bodies and learns about their significant other and start feeling for each other.

Both of them realize that they are falling in love with each other. Something which started as a weird mismatch of bodies turns into love.

Unfortunately, things spiral downwards by the time they realize what they meant to each other.

Taki Tachibana goes on a trip to find Mitsuha the girl he loves with his two comrades. He searches far and wide but to his dismay, he is not able to find her. Impending doom awaited her and he was the only one who could save her.

He finds the truth about what happens to Mitsuha and is on a time-crunched journey to save her from peril. In a shocking turn of events, the story moves forward bringing us to tears and what saves them is their relentless love for each other.

My review:

This movie is the greatest thing that the world has to offer. Every shot of this movie is mesmerizing. It’s truly breathtaking. The soundtracks and music included in this movie are one of those factors which make this movie really memorable. It gives us a sense of what the director is trying to convey and it serves as food for the soul. Radwimps does it again by enriching our hearts full of love.

Falling in love is simple but when the situation gets dire and there is no hope, will that love last and flourish?
That is the premise and plot raised here.
Will Mitsuha and Taki end up together or not?
Or does fate have a different idea for them?
That is something I (あなたを愛し) cannot share in this review because it will take the amazement out of watching this truly wonderful masterpiece.
I would give this movie an 8/10 because none of Taki’s past was shown in this movie.

The movie is stunning, romantic, it will make you cry more times than you can count and it will make you wonder how far will you go for your loved one. I would suggest this movie to anyone who is not an anime fan or is an anime fan. You won’t be disappointed. You will love it.
