Hello Everyone! Welcome back to another exciting anime review. This week is going to be crazy!!!!!! People are referring to these coming months to be the best fall for anime. We’ve got a lot of new anime coming up and seasons too.
‘ Burn the witch’ is a limited manga series written and illustrated by Tite Kubo, an accomplished manga writer who is also the author of ‘ Bleach.’ Apart from some references, this anime is not similar to bleach. It is a different anime and, all you can do is dive into the anime and enjoy it.
So let’s dive in.
We are introduced to an alternate side of London. Reverse- London. It is a beautiful place where magic flourishes and dragons are an integral part of society. So much so that if you are even a meter close to them, it is a penal offense.
Ninny Spangcole, who is quite a star in London, is chased by Paparazzi one minute and, the next minute, she’s ready to fight magical creatures.
Noel Nihaashi is a very calm witch, who cares for creatures and excels at magic. She is partnered with Nina to do her daily duties.
It’s hard to believe that the author has subtly, directed our attention involuntarily into this world and I feel it is a true feat of magic. The world grows upon you as you watch the series. The animation in this is so flawless and beautiful you imagine if you’re in a Ghibli movie.
The day turns a bit interesting when Balgo Parx, a member of the dragon clad flies up above the sky, whilst clinging to a rope attached to the cutest, dragon- dog you can find. The hilarious words that are coming out of its mouth need to be censored for now and to be only seen on tv.
They finally catch up to him and rescue him from the shackles off his stupid debacles. He snags against a chimney and falls. A person over there almost touches the dragon-dog Osushi-chan but, he evades somehow. The penalty for even just touching the dragon or breeding is 100 years in prison or death.
Noel is a calm and collected girl while her partner Ninny is a proactive, proud, and moody one. Somehow they kind of suit each other. Through this journey, the viewers are introduced to the follies and dangers of this world and also the beauty that surrounds it. The Wing Bind and the Society protects citizens from any danger whatsoever.
Noel knows Balgo and Osucshi personally, and she knows that osuschi won’t grow his wings and fly off unnecessarily. Balgo also claims that he hasn’t done anything goofy to tick off his dog. She concludes that Balgo might be in danger and that’s why Osuchi reacted the way he did.
At that exact moment emerged a big white dragon, trying to get a slice of Balgo. Noel uses a gun that uses mana to subdue the dragon. It comes down way to easy but the dangerous situation has not surpassed. It seems as though that the dragon is a rare kind of breed and its capture is a necessary thing towards their survival.
Reverse London is equipped with many protocols to tackle dragons. It is a fortified area where all the precautions can be taken. Both the girls decide to take matters into their own hands. Instead of calling for back up, they decide to prove themselves in front of their superiors.
Both of them try to distract the creature and take it out. It is headless and, there are a lot of weak spots they can hit. The magical spells used are really good to look at. Their effectiveness is portrayed through the flawless animation. When Noel uses a spell to send mana spears to subdue the dragon, it was the most epic scene ever.
Since it is a limited series, the story moves very fast. It skips to a round table of many prestigious and powerful people. Just like the times of Yore, a roundtable consisting of a king and his valiant knights.
The Wing Bind Supreme Powers watch the events transpiring through a viewing device. One by one, they are introduced and, each person has an independent personality. They potentially fear the existence of the dragon clad Balgo Parx and wants him eliminated. Their superior is involved in this and, things start to escalate from there.
This anime has a special kind of genuine persona and I feel its worth the watch. It bases its premise around fairytail creatures. The concept of witches and wizards, worldbuilding, many interesting characters, and flawless animation are something to look forward to. The London scenery is mesmerizing and glorious, just like this anime.
The One Piece manga is setting up a fierce war between the animal kingdom pirates and the alliance. Things are getting heated up and, surprises pop out of nowhere in every chapter. Let’s dive in.
X Drake wishes to ally with Luffy to take down Kaido. It was presumptuous of him to think that Luffy might accept this request. He attacks the numbers as a tactic to gain trust. We get a glimpse of his conversation with Tobi.
Tobi flatters Luffy in such a way that he exists in between 2 extremes. ” When he’s a friend, he’s so close to you…but when he is an enemy, he’s completely out of reach. That’s the kind of person he is. ” He said.
I’m impressed that even though they have been apart for so long. Luffy and Tobi share an understanding of each other that is clear as day.
X Drake can’t be trusted just yet until he proves himself in front of the Strawhats. Zoro, Franky, and Jinbei disagree with what he says and, they all have their reason for it. Working under Kaido for so long and then choosing to change sides at the sign of danger. That sounds like a weakness.
Luffy, on the other hand, straightaway says that he can join them. He is so innocent and Naive. This incident brings back memories. When he asked Law if he would betray them and he said no. Of course, he hasn’t betrayed him till now and, Luffy’s guts are something to rely on. I have no doubt, it’s that gut instinct that will help him find the One Piece. 😀
Ulti and Page One notices Luffy instantly and charge to stop him. As Luffy escapes, he is followed by the two. Sanji’s eyes straight away go to the cute girl wearing the mask. It’s so obvious. 😀
From a far distance, a familiar sniper shoots his special attack to stop Ulti and Page one in their tracks. Ussop and Nami appear and saves the day. They are the most normal people on the crew. The others are superhumans but the definition of humans can only be coined by these guys.
We get a cute Nami v Ussop scene like always. Ussop, hidden behind Nami, talks big and gains the attention of Luffy’s pursuers. Evasion is working to their advantage and we have to agree that it is their ultimate weapon.
Luffy and Sanji rush forward and they stumble onto Scratchmen Apoo. Luffy warns Sanji beforehand to cover his ears. I believe that Luffy used Haki to see the future. The events get more interesting. A lot is going on in each cubicle and, Eichiro Oda needs to be appreciated for his effort. The detail he puts into every slide is incredible.
Scratcheman Apoo, The numbers, and a new foe have appeared, all are trying to keep Luffy away from Kaido. Nevertheless, Luffy rushes to face Kaido. The penultimate fight that is brewing is to set up Luffy’s platform. I believe that as Luffy is backed up at a corner all the straw hats will assemble to help them. Taking down Kaido is going to be a team effort and its not something that Luffy will be able to do by himself.
The thing about One Piece being a well-told story is that it makes things real. It brings wonder, a lot of fun characters, meaningful relationships, and fights that live up to the hype. A particular level of strength needs to be obtained and harnessed. The power system set up in One Piece is by far the best in any anime.
Franky leads the giant away from the Dome upon instruction by Jinbei. It is an attempt by Oda to set up a fight for Franky. The subtle clues to his storytelling are seen all over the chapter. Nami teamed up with Ussop chasing away Ulti- Page one is also a subtle foreshadowing of fights to come. As an avid One Piece fan, if your reading or watching One Piece, you’ve got to keep your heart as well as your eyes open.
X Drake and Zoro keep going against each other, arguing about him changing sides. Scratchman Apoo appears in front of them and blabber about summoning more numbers. Zoro and X Drake simultaneously attack him and subdue him. X Drake and Zoro, for a limited time, think about teaming up to take Apoo out.
Queen unexpectedly appears out of nowhere and uses an ‘uncommon’ item known to the people of Wano. Wano was always backward in progress unlike the other islands on the Grandline. Shut from the world, no resources at all, and yet this weapon was ultramodern. It manages to hurt some samurai and, X Drake is also shocked at it. At first, he doesn’t believe that he can take him out with normal bullets like that. Then he realizes that it might be something else. Drop your theories about this. Do you think it might be seastone bullets to pierce devil fruit users?
Now we enter my most favorite part in the chapter. Nekomamushi and Inuarashi stand tall in their Sulong transformation. They manage to take out Jack, one of the top performers of Kaido. He massacred many mink tribe members and, this is a befitting end he deserved. He is down for the count and Kaido is mad at this sight. He tells Jack that he is not weak and he did his best to hold back the Sulong transformed Mink Tribe.
Oda portrayed Kaido as a drunk, vicious man who had no mercy or remorse towards anyone. He proved us wrong. Kaido cares for his crew and acknowledges him. He tells him that he has done enough and he needs to tend his wounds.
Kaido rises to the sky and uses his blast breath. He taunts the Akazaya Nine to’ run, tire and perish’. They have other things in mind. Kinemon rushes up to the flame straightforward and slashes it in half. It was one of the most epic moments. None of the Akazya Nine are backing out, and this time they are taking the fight to Kaido.
Hello Everyone! Welcome back to an exciting post of the anime reviews.
God of Highschool, the anime that has been creating a buzz aired its final episode of the first season. Everyone is going crazy, especially me. 😀
In my posts, I had addressed concerns regarding the storytelling and the narrative that the anime had adopted. Well, this episode sums it all up and leaves us with a lot of things to expect in the future.
Jeagal Teak consumes ‘ The Key’ and becomes a God, an angel of death. It spells doom for Jin Mori and everyone involved. Jegeal Teak doesn’t waste any time. He wants to lay waste to the land.
On the front line are Jin Mori, Han Daewi, and Yu Mira. Everyone at their limits is assaulted and taken down one by one. Jin Mori frightened at the sight of Jegala Teak can’t seem to move.
When Han Daewi jumps in front of Mori and Mira to sacrifice his life, something in him snaps. Remember in the match between Illpyo and Mori, when he unlocked a latent power? It comes to fruition once again but this time, he can use the full extent of it. Jin Mori unlocks the power and this person he has turned into is a different entity. He turns into Seiten Taisei. He is revered to be God himself and referred to as the monkey king.
The Monkey King has existed throughout history with different names, in many cultures. In Chinese Mandarin, he is known as Sun Wukong. In Japanese folklore he is referred to as Son Goku and predating all this is the Monkey God knows as Hanuman from the Indian scripture of Ramayana. His staff the Nyoibo is also something from the Chinese texts. It was given to the Monkey king by the Dragon Queen. It was a pillar that had no use but glowed in the hands of the Monkey King. It resonated with him and became his greatest power. This anime has been keeping these facts hidden behind all the fighting and it is quite interesting that they revealed it all in the final episode.
An epic fight commences between Seiten Taisei and Jeagal Teak. The fight is by far one of the best-animated fights in the series. He takes down Jeagel Teak’s hideous creatures using his Nyoibo. Jin Mori makes Jeageal Teak pay for every indecent deed he has done. The satisfaction after watching him beat him to a pulp is overwhelming. He got what was coming to him. The journey for the attainment of power is one that will bring ruin. He found out the hard way.
Mujin Park and the others looking from a distance witness the spectacle created by Jin Mori. Chakreyok is a power that is borrowed from the Gods but as Park Mujin describes it, Jin Mori is indeed a God himself. He is the one who can revel against ‘ The possessor of the Key.’ He summons lightning from the skies to destroy Jegal Teak and subdues him.
Mori collapses into the loving hands of his friends. They suspect that Mori has been possessed by someone else but that is not the case. Mori’s crown reacts to Jegal Teak’s tenacious intent. Jegeal Teak wants more power and he transforms into a grotesque creature who wants to devour everyone.
Mira and Han struggle to keep Mori out of harms way. I appreciate that the author gives everyone a chance to prove themselves and that is one of the reasons this anime is so good. It is not the main character-driven plot. Many subplots intertwine to form a complete story.
Park Illpyo arrives and tells Mori that he should not do things alone. He should rely on friends more. The four of them engage in an epic fight scene, launch an onslaught of attacks, and destroys Jegeal Teak. Mori launches his final attack but struggles to finish him. The grandson of ‘ The Magician’ turns things around for them by petrifying Jegeal Teak and he is finally destroyed.
When the fight is over a member of the SIX appears from her slumber. Kim Ungneyo, the progenitor of life as we know it. Another God appears after all the fights are over. The agreement that Mujin Park had laid down with all the competitors of God of highschool was that the winner would receive whatever they wished for. She is the grantor of that wish.
Jin Mori rushes to the opportunity to make a wish without consulting anyone. His deepest desire comes out flowing through tears, to see his grandfather once again. His grandfather is the only one he has and his longing can be felt within each viewer. With the permission of his teammates, he asks to heal everyone hurt during the battle. Illpyo’s cousins were all healed from their disabilities and back to good shape.
Jin Mori, even though is a knucklehead cares for the people around him. This scene itself is proof of that. A touching reunion between siblings occurs and hence the curtain falls on God of Highschool.
Three months have passed, The Magician Jeon Jeasen has passed away and Na Bongchim, Mori’s sensei treats him as a Big Brother and pays respects at his grave. Seo Hallyang also arrives at the scene and hilariously asks if Na Bongchim had sorted out relationship stuff with Ungneyo. That was a spoiler we didn’t need but deserved. 😀
Mujin Park aims at taking the presidential election to seize control of the Country but NOX is one step ahead. The Traitor amidst Mujin Park’s organization is also revealed and it was an interesting development.
Jin Mori wakes up from his 3-month long slumber and has no memory whatsoever of what went down. He finds that Ilpyo has been traveling around the world to collect the fragments of the Key.
Finally, the secret of the Key has been revealed. Ugneyou explains it as a power to revel against the Gods. With its power, a human can drag God from the holy realm and kill him.
Han Daewi tells Mori that to unlock his memories, he will have to go to the homeland of Seiten Taisei and the atmosphere looks fun. A temple on top of a cliff. OOOOhhhh Fun!!!!!!. 😀
Jin Taejin is shown in shackles at the NOX hideout and he talks about Jin Mori being able to defeat the Gods, Fate, and himself. It is suspicious that he would count himself in this unless he is pretty sure that something is going to happen to him. Something sure to change his psyche and make him evil.
God of Highschool has left us a lot to think about before Season 2. The spoilers are endless and it increases the hype. The story ends on a high note, setting up a lot of subplots and intrigue. The world-building still has some gaps but I’m sure that they can bring more clarity in season 2.
Hello My fellow Nakama! Welcome back to another fun-filled anime review.
The One Piece anime has been picking up the pace with the Wano Kuni arc. It has been continuously giving us joy as well as sorrow but its quite necessary to the story. Today we’re going to discuss episode 943 of One Piece.
The attack continues succeeding in the demise of Yasui. An enraged Orochi wants to take out the life of Yasui’s daughter and that is not something that the straw hats will allow. Everywhere they go, hope follows. Zoro and Kyoshiro fight against each other till the very death. They are evenly matched and want to finish each other off.
Sanji goes against X Drake in his Zoan form and it is a pleasant sight to see both of these people fighting parallel to each other after a long time.
The Oniwabanchu appears during the fight and disrupts the momentum. To be honest this episode was enjoyable because of the funny sequences it had to offer. One of the Oniwabanchu appears to be using some sorcery but instead, she was staging for an attack using a tricked-out gun. Hilarious!
As the straw hats are stopped in their tracks by Orochi’s henchmen, Soul King A.K.A Brooke steals the show. He and his electric guitar rile up a surprise for all the ninja. You’ve ever heard of lightning doesn’t strike twice?
We’ll tell that to the ninja who ran like babies when they saw a ghost. Oh, Brooke !!! When will the charade of scaring people stop?
Still, it was damn effective.
As Sanji fights X Drake, he hears the voice of a damsel in distress. I don’t know if that was Observation Haki or the perceptive capabilities of a pervert but he sensed it from a mile away. In a plethora of kicks, he defeats X Drake and rushes to save Hiyori. For Hiyori, who wouldn’t fly like that? 😀
Sanji is just real classy with that finish there. Coming between Sanji and women, X Drake never stood a chance. Sanji flies along the speed of light to save Hiyori but just as he was about to reach there, his ‘not- so favorite’ Marimo, Zoro intervenes.
He butts in and saves Hiyori. The shock on Sanji’s face is priceless. The good old days of One Piece are back. I missed these interactions with the straw hats. The fun and adventure of storytelling are what made One Piece great. It’s all coming back. Oda wanted us to be nostalgic and that is why he separated them for so many years.
Sanji’s shock doesn’t end and he even says that his bounty is more than Zoro’s. The face of a jealous man didn’t look any different. Zoro and Hiyori look pretty cute together btw.
Law approaches the prison where his crewmates have been imprisoned. Waiting for him was Hawkins and he had plans set up for him. In a surprising turn of events, he predicted that law would come in between all the ruckus to try and save his crew. He put everyone separate just in case.
The dastardly smart Hawkins, bound the bodies of all his crewmates to himself using his devil fruit and gave Law a difficult choice of killing him. To kill him is to kill all of his crewmates. Law is stuff in this predicament and is hesitant to do anything at this point.
We shift the focus to Udon prison. The Sumo Inferno continues, the rules have changed. Kid and Killer have been shackled and have been strung up above a big bowl of water. If Luffy and Hyogoro are defeated then Eustass Kid and Killer can escape. That was the deal placed by Queen. The look in Luffy’s eyes of dread truly conveys his feelings towards people.
Ever since the introduction of Queen, he has been shown as Jolly and yet a fiendishly cute villain. This episode put a reverse gear on that perspective. After Luffy rashly challenges Queen, he gets enraged and starts to question Luffy. His intent to kill is felt through every hair in Luffy’s body. He tells Luffy that each one of them was going to die in that prison.
Luffy gets enraged at these words and tells him to shut up. ‘ Overtaken’ one of my favorite One Piece Original Soundtrack plays in the background as Luffy walks towards Queen. ” When it comes to where I die…I’ll do the choosing! ” said Luffy. These were the words that gave hope to all of us.
The symbolisms of freedom are all a definitive part of One Piece and Oda showcases those aspects wherever required. He is a master craftsman who can tug on the right places on your heart and that is why this episode was one of a kind.
A surprise visitor arrives at Udon prison to interrupt this Shindig. ‘ Big Mom’ has entered the area. Until next time. See ya!
Hello Everyone! Welcome back to another anime review. Today, we’ll be talking about an anime that I loved and got hooked on in the first episode.
Enn Enn No Shoubutai( Fire Force), a marvelous manga series written and illustrated by Atsushi Okubo, revolves around Shinra Kusakabe, a young cadet fresh out from the academy. He joins the Fire Force Unit 8 and aims to be a hero.
This anime caught my eyes, not just for the visuals but the sound. Every action is followed by a specific sound that you can feel radiating through your body. The animation is spot on and the characters are splendid.
We will be discussing the introductory arc for this series.
Episode 1 : Shinra Kusakabe Enlists
Its the Solar year 198 and humanity as we know it is no more. The earth succumbed to a great catastrophe that made most of the people extinct. A new world is formed and each generation of children possess the ability to create and manipulate flames.
The first scene starts with a person catching on fire instantaneously. These phenomenons have been occurring around the world and hence the fire force has been formed. These beings are called Infernals and they are dammed creatures who walk the earth. The fire force team 8 arrives at the scene and take out the infernal.
What I liked about the anime is that they have focused on world-building and the relationship the characters share. They have laid the foundation for that and then have moved to the central premise of the story.
Shinra Kusakabe is a third-generation pyrokinetic and is a person who can generate flames from within his body. He is rightly called a devil. Captian Akitaru Obi is a regular human possessing no abilities but his leadership qualities and unwavering moral sense are what keeps the team together( he is my favorite character ). Takaehisha Hinawa, the lieutenant of the squad, and Maki-San are second-generation pyrokinetic and she manipulates fire. Hinawa uses firearms and with flame bullets in them and Maki is a badass who has brains. brawns and kickass fighting style. Sister Iris is the designated Sister who has trained under the Holy Sol temple.
The concept of reading the final rights before putting an infernal to rest is a highlight in this anime. It shows the sign of compassion and forgiveness in dark times.
Shinra Kusakabe lost his mother and little brother in a fire. Ever since he was a little boy, he wanted to be a hero, and his mother is the one who supported his dream. Losing her is the reason why he wanted to save people.
Shinra Kusakabe’s first mission goes a bit south for him yet with the help of his new team, triumphs over it. The team works together to give Shinra his first chance at putting an infernal to rest.
This anime is a dedication to all the wonderful firefighters out there who risk their lives to save us. The emotions towards the fire force depicted in the anime speak a thousand words.
Episode 2: The Heart Of A Fire Soldier
This whole arc is an introductory arc. The premise, the characters, and the system that the world moves around are discussed in it. A story must have a solid footing so that it can flourish and resonate with its audience.
A new member arrives at the fire force company 8 cathedral. Arthur Boyle, a rival to Shinra Kusakabe and a recruit for the fire force company 8. He is a weird one. Self-boasting, ‘ Mr. Popular’ if you may. Shinra and Arthur get into a duel from the start itself. It is always good to have contrasting characters and this show has plenty of them. Arthur is also a third-generation pyrokinetic who uses a sword powered by a condensed plasma flame.
Maki-San goes against both Shinra and Arthur, to test their skills, and they utterly fail against her. Her tenacious attitude and fighting spirit cannot be matched. She is one of the most lovable characters in the series.
The highlight of this episode is Captain Akitaru Obi. He values and prioritizes the lives of civilians more than putting an infernal to rest. Captain Obi told Shinra and Arthur to keep their weapons concealed in front of the next of kin. They didn’t listen and started questioning him. He made them understand that what they were doing was the same as murder. Putting to rest, prayers were all a ruse to do their jobs. To always give respect to the next of kin who are going through a difficult time and give relief, that is what Fire Soldiers must aspire to do. This message resonates with the audience and it entices them to follow Captain Obi. He is a great leader and there can be no one like him.
An incident occurs at the home when a mysterious person spills some dust inside the house and it destroys the whole complex. The mystery of human combustion and why it occurs is discussed through this very scene. That is the main goal, to find the reason behind this.
Episode 3: The Rookie Fire Soldier Games
The time for the rookie tournament is here. A tournament is one way that authors showcase their main character’s skills. It is a contest where people can get to know the characters and what they have to offer.
In Naruto, no one thought much about Rock Lee, but after his match against Gaara, everyone was on his side. That match was badass. Sorry for shifting focus. Back to fire force!!
Shinra, Arthur, and the other arrives at the tournament. He meets a really ‘tsundere’ girl named Tamaki. She’s pretty cute and Shinra and she crosses paths with each other in unimaginable ways ( Yes!!! its very dirty).
Maki-San introduces them to the mascots for the fire force company. Mamoru Kun, Cat, and Dog. Maki-San is cute as always.
Shinra meets someone from his past. The Fire soldier who rescued from the burning fire when he was a little boy. He was the one who rescued him when he lost his mother and his little brother Sho. He acts very suspiciously around him, and Shinra catches on to something fishy.
The games begin and right from the start, Shinra faces off against a villain. ‘Joker’, the villain who used a special powder has arrived at the scene and is creating chaos. He took down 2 crewmen and threatens to kill them. Shinra attacks him head one and it is a fight not to be missed.
The animation is flawless and the sound effects are marvelous. If you want to take in the glory and beauty of this anime then it is a humble suggestion to watch it while wearing earphones. Its a masterpiece.
The villain offers him the truth about the day that his mother and brother passed away. Shocked by the truth spilling out of Joker he realizes that something is wrong with the system he belongs to. Arthur and Tamaki join the fight and at this instant Joker understands that he has overstayed his welcome. He fills the whole room with the exploding powder.
Shinra and the other rush to save everyone in the building. As epic moments are considered this anime has many of them. It’s not an exaggeration but a fact. It is a complete masterpiece.
Captain Obi tells him about the three pillars of the country. The SOl temple, Haijima Industries, and the fire force academy. There is a mystery behind all these and that is what interests him.
Shinra gets to know the truth about the motives of the fire force company 8 and decides to join forces. This is the turning point of the story.
Episode 4: The Hero And The Princess
This episode marks the end of the introductory arc. We are introduced to Princess Hibana, the captain of the Special Fire force company 5th. She is a strong and bold woman. Stomping her away over a lot of men and she does it quite literally. She is a part of the Haijima Industries research division.
Shinra and Arthur save the mascot, Mamoru Kun, from the top of a tree. He was bullied by college students because of a firefighter gone rogue and killing civilians. The decision regarding his actions was to be taken on that day.
Shinra and Arthur respond to an emergency broadcast by lieutenant Hinawa and rush to the courthouse. The psychopathic killer Miyamoto has turned into an infernal and is terrorizing the civilians. Shinra and Arthur heroically take him down.
The weird thing about the infernal is he was self-aware of who and what he was. This came as a shock to them and the matter of putting him to rest became a predicament. The soul of a fire soldier has to be strong to do these things.
Shinra chases after him and lands in the middle of a street. One of the best fight scenes that have ever happened just unfolds. He throws a car up in the air and takes it down on to the infernal. The infernal gets bashed up bad and surrenders.
As Shinra was about to put the infernal to rest, princess Hibana interferes. She uses some kind of spell to subdue Shinra. Fire Force Company 8 arrives just in the knick of time and saves him.
Betrayal regarding the secrets between human combustion is lurking inside the Fire Force Company 5. One of the recruits from company 5 disses Captain Obi. Shinra and Arthur get enraged and try to attack him. Maki-San in an effort to stop them instead lands a subtle blow on the recruit. It was the most hilarious and satisfying scene.
Company 5 is up to something and it cannot be something good. Company 8th is the protector of the truth and they will try their best to do justice.
After a long gap, we are finally back with the Haikyu!! Manga. It’s pretty hard to write manga reviews because what you read and feel cannot be directly conveyed. The vision of the author is something I cherish. I like each and everyone to feel what I feel and embrace the feeling.
The Haikyu!! Manga has been that for me. We will be shifting our focus for some time from Karasuno to Nekoma. Karasuno and Nekoma are parallel to each other. While one team, considered as an offensive, go-getter team, the other is a defensive team, smart and calm.
Chapter 265: Meanwhile, the laziest cat
The Nekoma team discuss with each other situations in which their team has grown. Kenma has always considered himself to be an introvert and a guy who kept to himself. Kuro is the one who changed all that for him. He got him into the sport of volleyball and they have been inseparable ever since.
Kuro starts reminiscing about old stories. He remembers Kenma used to go to sleep after a really difficult practice session, or an intense match. He felt guilty that he dragged Kenma till the nationals but he feels something has changed inside him. The fact that he might be hooked on volleyball amazes him.
Kenma gets involved in the conversation. “I don’t have any big driving reason to continue… but I don’t have any reason to quit either,” said Kenma. He is a genius but was not motivated the first time we see him. He has crossed leaps and bounds and his goals are immeasurable. He also tells his teammates that he does not want to be a sweaty guy but wants to grind for levels if he can.
Kuro believes that Kenma considers Hinata as a final boss he has to face to clear the level. Kuro has high hopes for this fine battle. The day of the match begins. It’s Nekoma V Sarukawa Tech. Both of these teams mainly focus on defense. The coach of Sarukawa Tech is a former player of Nekoma and that gives them an advantage. He knows all their moves and what they might do.
A match in which both defenses are strong. Not one person is letting go. They’re upping the ante. Its a test of time and perseverance. The goal that Sarukawa is looking for is to take out the brain of the Nekoma formation.
Chapter 266: Cats Vs. Monkeys
The roots of Nekoma’s team formation is not so fine as it seems. Kenma and Tora’s relationship starts off to a rocky start. Their ideologies are so different, yet their goals are the same. Kenma as we all know is an introvert who has very little motivation to do anything. Tora is a hyperactive teenager who believes in guts and determination. He is similar to Tanaka from Karasuno.
In their first year, both of them go through different journeys. Kenma, even though he is lazy and not so motivated he is natural at volleyball. His setting is spot on and reaches the mark. Tora tries hard but is not able to rise to the occasion. It creates a rift between these two.
They develop and become good friends and rivals. Kenma changes a lot due to the influence of Tora and his determination. The team that Nekoma is against is trying hard to make Kenma move and run. They figure that if they tire them, there will be more openings in their defense. Even so, they strive to adjust according to the changing conditions of the game and rallies to defeat them.
Chapter 267: Trap
Nekoma is neck and neck with Sarukawa. Sarukawa has been trying to get Kenma tired and mess up their formation but Nekoma has been trying to acclimate themselves so that it won’t happen. Defying all odds, Kenma sets the ball, and it’s a smashhhh!!!!!
Suguru explains that it’s not an easy task to indirectly pressurize the setter. To do that the team would need a great defense themselves and perseverance. Sarukawa’s game plan is incorporated in such a way to do just that.
It becomes a very grueling battle for Nekoma. Their setter has been pushed to the limit but holds strong to receive balls. His sets are all over the place but Nekoma somehow tries to get the balls and scores. Both sides are standing tall, Kenma falls and Sarukawa has gained an advantage there.
Sarukawa’s coach being a pupil of coach Nekomata puts things into a disadvantageous perspective. He remembers the words by Coach Nekomata who said “volleyball is about constant perseverance and repetition.” You repeat the same attacks, blocks, and receives over and over and it puts indirect pressure on the team in front. This same idealogy has been used against him in the game.
Sarukawa believes that the momentum is in their hands, but Nekoma rallies with their lives on the line and scores. The score is even now but neither team loses confidence. The next rally is the most interesting. Nekoma botches a serve and it goes up next to the net. It lures the blockers like ‘moths to a flame’ and just when they notice Kenma sends the ball to the opposite side to finish it off with a smash. Everyone is shocked. The manipulation games by Nekoma is one to look out for. How long have they been doing it is the question.
Chapter 268: Kenma Kozume’s Stubbornness
Nekoma is far ahead of their observations. They knew from the beginning that Sarukawa has been trying to tire out Kenma. They devise a plan to counteract this. Ever since Set 1, it is a miracle that Nekoma has been manipulating the other team.
The author forms teams in such a way that the team itself possesses an individual personality. In the case of Karasuno, they are offensive and an all-out crazy team. In the case of Inarizaki, every one of them is a master at their craft. When it comes to Nekoma, they use more of their brain than brawns. They can afford to play mind games as well as defend and score all the time.
An on and off battle wages on between both teams. They want to end things quickly but that is not the case. Its a test of perseverance and the momentum will go to the team that will grab this rally. Nekoma is faced against a team consisting of the same ideologies. They are careful and execute simple plays to score points.
Kenma realizes that guts and determination may not be what it seems like. In video game terms, it is equivalent to physical and mental statistics being powered up to max. This analogy is what leads him to do the next set. He positions himself in such a way to do a perfect set and Nekom scores.
He always says that his team is good not because he is in it but for the fact that they are all in it together. That is what volleyball is all about.
Chapter 269: Monsters
Andddddd!!!!!!! Nekoma scores. They win this round and qualify for their next battle. Frivolous pleasantries are shared between the teammates. Kenma stepped up and helped his team win. He hilariously tells his team that he went to the distance so that he can avoid the 3rd set. It was a big no for him.
As he looks far into the distance, he tells himself that he did all this grinding to reach the main boss, Hinata, the main boss in his game of life. For the first time in his life, he wants to play a game that will be life or death.
Kuro is a good friend and he feels that if he plays like this, he can improve even more. He firmly believes that Hinata is the only one who can bring out the aggressive side in Kenma.
Set 2 of the Karasuno V Inarizaki match continues. The score is 14 – 7 and Nekoma has come to see their rivals play. Nishinoya is backed into a corner. He is being targetted by Atsumu Miya’s float servers. Inarizaki tries to target the Guardian angel of Karasuno to depreciate their morals. The Humiliation of getting picked on is being faced by Nishinoya. Will they succeed in destroying Nishinoya or will he rise to seize the day?
God of Highschool went from the story of a fighting tournament to something crazy. God of Highschool Episode 12 dives into an all-out war. Ilipyo unlocking the Key has provoked NOX to move in to take hold of that power. They aren’t the only ones who want it.
To be honest, the power scaling system and the organizations were all confusing to me. This episode clears up some loose ends and transports us into all the action.
The skies turn red and beings plummet from the sky to bring their plan to fruition. NOX summons their trump card, ‘GOD’ himself. A diety like figure descends from the heavens. The whole situation does not look good.
Park Mujin trie to stop the descending doom from approaching earth and destroying it. We get to know that if ‘The Key’ and God come to meet, then it spells doom for the whole world. From almost the second episode of the show, the mystery regarding the Key has been finally solved.
Villians also had good intentions inside them once. The situations they get involved in and their admirations are what make them take a different path. Jeagal Teak abandoned by his mother and sold to a rich old man was raised and instilled with goals so that he can be a ‘ winner’. This episode is about winners and losers. His Adoptive parent tells him that those who abandon people and take the easy way out are considered, losers. Those who envision victory from the beginning and achieve it with full confidence are known as winners. These teachings have made a drastic change in his personality which turns him into such a man. The tides are turning in God of Highschool and we have to wonder, who will gain the upper hand?
Illpyo and Jegeal face off against each other in a vicious battle. Illpyo enraged at the fact that Jegeal has taken everything good in his life and he isn’t going to let him win just yet. The animation is flawless. Fists meeting each other in a fiery embrace, power-ups that are so flashy which makes you want to watch the fight with no interruption.
This anime has made every episode worthwhile. Each episode lives up to the hype and this one is no different. The members of SIX are flying around taking out parademon looking creatures, Park Mujin tries to stop the incoming deity from attack Seoul. Illpyo loses the ‘ Key’ and it is extracted into an actual key. A crazy frenzy of fights begins to get hold of the key and this is just the start of all the debacles.
In a way, it has the elements from the 2014 ‘Justice League War’ and Avengers 1. Oh yeah! I forgot to tell you. The USA launches nuclear missiles to destroy the creature from beyond our realm. This episode was on the same magnitude as some of the scenes from these movies and I find it fun to see that.
All the members of the God Of Highschool tournament are transported to a garden until the issue is solved. Jin Mori keeps the key safe for Illpyo. Han Daewi’s chakreyok nature is revealed and Jegal Taek goes on a rampage again.
For the first time since I’ve been writing, I can’t explain what this episode is. It is a continuous rollercoaster of an action scene and it engages us while putting us on the edge of our seats. The most spectacular performance of power shown in this episode was ‘ The Magician’. Jeon Jaesan performs alchemy to teleport each citizen far away from the attack site. He single-handedly destroys God and disintegrates all the missiles that were launched.
The SIX is not an organization to be underestimated. I even wonder it won’t be easy to defeat Jin Taejin either if their members have powers of this magnitude. He might as well be alive and well. The whole diety is transported to that jungle, the place where the others were sent to. Jegeal Teak goes on a rampage and takes out Han and Mira. He is a powerful villain and does not stop at getting what he wants. His perseverance is unmatched and not even Jin Mori can match this. Jeagel Taek gets ahold of the Key and he transforms into something much unbelievable. He might as well be the ‘ Angel of death’.
This shows lacks a little bit of narrative but makes up for with the well-choreographed fight sequences. Moving from frame to frame the detail given to the fights is tremendous and the animation is flawless. I’m intrigued to see how this series is going to wrap up in the final episode.
The Boruto manga has reached a point where our main characters are at an impasse. Ishikki Otsutsuki proves to be a formidable foe and nothing is going to stop him from accomplishing his goal.
Boruto teleports them all to another dimension. He uses his intellect and wit to achieve this magnificent feat. Naruto is very impressed that he might be a splitting image of himself.
Ishiki Otsutsukki is enraged and charges towards Boruto. In a flash he subdues him. This chapter provided facts regarding Boruto’s transformation. In the fight between Boro and Boruto, the transformation was a sign of 70-80% of the manifestation of Otsutki genes inside Boruto. Ishikki notices this and wants to see the full extent of his latent abilities.
Sasuke uses his Rinnegan abilities and switches places with Boruto. He uses Chidori on Ishikki but he evades and sends him flying. Fearing for his son’s life, Naruto asks Boruto to leave but Ishikki’s thirst for destruction has just begun.
Ishikki’s powers are even higher than we anticipated. He whisks Boruto away in the blink of an eye and no one can do anything about it. The author has subtly shown the power differences between these characters. Naruto and Sasuke have faced a lot of foes but this is one that they have not looked into.
Kawaki dreams about his creation. He was bestowed with the Karma seal as a symbol of his oppression. Kawaki went through a tough childhood and despised himself and his abilities for such a long time,
He wakes up from his sleep and sees Amado sitting next to him. Amado briefs him about his whereabouts and the events that took place while he was unconscious. The Leaf Village is not able to locate Boruto’s Chakra as well as Naruto’s and Sasuke’s.
Shikamaru explains to Kawaki that his karma has disappeared and he is a free bird. Kawaki knows the situation he is in and the unparalleled strength of Ishikki. Until Ishiki’s demise, Kawaki can never be a free spirit. They plan to wait out a few days so that Ishiki’s life force can gradually decrease. In doing so he will get weak and die and there will be no way he can implant a new Karma seal on Kawaki.
Naruto and Sasuke battle it out with Ishikki. Ishikki in this form skillfully dodges all their advances. Sasuke while fighting with his katana, is stopped instantly from attacking. His Katana has been shrunk to a miniature size and he is smacked on the face with a stick.
He is down for the count and exhausted. Ishikki is a bigger foe than we knew. He sets his eyes on killing Sasuke. It is very hard to believe that Sasuke could be taken down with something as meager as a smack, but of course Its Boruto’s show. Even Naruto in his nine tails form is not a match for Ishikki. Ishhikki pulls out all the stops and takes down the most powerful Shinobi in the world. It is a testament to his true strength.
Shikamaru and the other discuss Boruto’s new ability. Amado suggests that Boruto has realized something about Ishikki that none of the others can notice. It is a spectacle seeing him grow up from that snotty-nosed brat into an intellectual shinobi.
Boruto dives in front of Ishikki as he is about to execute Sasuke. He takes Sasuke to a safe place and evades Ishikki. He figures that something odd is going on with Ishikki. It was quite valiant of him to sacrifice his life like that to save his teacher. Boruto has received the respect of the entire Naruto fandom with that single action.
Amado tells them that, Boruto might as well be the ‘Key’ to winning this fight. He might be the one to stop Ishikki.
I believe that according to the law of the Otsutsuki clan, killing is prohibited between the members. The transfer of power is the only way to end someone’s life and for that to happen they need consent. Momoshiki was the one who consumed one of his disciples. At the beginning of Boruto, if you remember Toneri, the clan member who lived on the moon wasn’t killed by Momishiki, he was just petrified, turned into stone. According to these laws killing within the clan is humanely impossible for Ishikki Otsutsuki and hence Boruto cannot be killed. He might be the only one who can defeat Ishikki Otsutsuki.
Tell me what your views are on my theory. Until Next time. See ya!
One Piece, a masterpiece written and illustrated by Eichiro Oda offers its fans what they want. It’s anime adaptation struggled a bit after the time-skip but has a strong footing in this arc.
The Wano arc picks up pace as our monster Duo, Zoro and Sanji meet again after 6 years. For 6 years we have been waiting for this moment and Oda managed to make it the most epic moment ever. Ricocheting bullets or samurai with swords cannot stop this duo. That’s how strong they are.
They are hostile as ever against each other but they manage to take the villainous samurai down. Seeing these two together makes us want to reminisce. A love hat relationship inculcating the words weird brow and moss head for Sanji and Zoro respectfully. It’s wonderful seeing them fight alongside each other again after such a long time. Oda separated these 2 so that they could pursue their paths for the time being and improve on it. The next time they meet up again would be epic in the sense that the fans would go crazy over it, and he was not wrong on that aspect.
X Drake and Hawkins identify them instantly as members of the straw hats. X Drake transforms into his Zoan form and engages on the duo. Zoro hands Otoko over to Sanji and wants him to run away from the scene.
Yasui is a person who treated Zoro well when he was in Ebisu town. In a way, many things he said and did resonate within Zoro. TO see all that destroyed in front of his eyes by Orochi instilled hatred in his heart. HE goes on the offensive and sets his eyes on Orochi.
” As they say, there are evens and odds in this world. Both good and evil come in turn.” Yasui said. All he wanted to do was put an end to it and that exact belief has been destroyed on this day. Sanji warns Zoro as to the consequences of his actions. Yasui gave up his life for a particular cause and if we act now, according to feelings, then the goal will not be met.
Zoro’s feelings get the best of him and he launches his 720 Pound Pehonix aiming for Orochi’s demise. In that split second Kyoshiro arrives and counters his attack.
Kyoshiro can be considered as a powerful ally to Orochi. He has the demeanor of a respectable samurai and he is one of those people that Orochi will listen to without disagreeing. To have that much influence on the shogun of Wano is a great feat. Kyoshiro’s skills are on par with the best samurai in Wano. He demands respect for Orochi and hence he decapitated Komarasaki to preserve this belief.
Zoro and Sanji are catapulted by a barrage of attacks. Backed up to corners, the straw hats reveal themselves one by one to support them. ‘Nakama’ are always there for each other no matter what. You leave your back open, they are there to cover it. Franky flies in from the sky and takes the bullets. They are of no effect to him and the enemies are shocked at this sight. Franky pummels his opponents and grabs Yasu’s body and runs off.
He is chased by the Samurai but his savior arrives in the nick of time. Ussop A.K.A Sogeking A.K.A God Ussop arrives on the scene and as always never misses. Ussop is everyone’s hated character turned favorite character. From a coward to a reliable friend he has changed leaps and bounds. He never misses a shot ever and that is admirable.
The enemy aims at him and Robin appears to save him from peril. It’s very naughty to hear Robin say ‘ Spank’. I’m sorry I couldn’t help it. Nami also appears and manages to hit a ferocious attack.
It is really good to see the whole crew back again. Little by little the good old days of the Strawhats together coming back to us. Rising from the flames of revenge are the strawhats. The influence they create on people is unparalleled. It is a great feeling that everyone has been wanting for a long long time.
Zoro goes up against Kyoshiro and it is a great battle to watch indeed. Nami, Franky, Robin, and Ussop work together and perform attacks that decimate the execution grounds. This episode was the best by far because we got to see the straw hats together again after so long. They have been working hard, learning new things and this is the stage where they use it.
The happiest person to watch all these developments is Luffy. He watches everything in prison and is ecstatic for his crew. Like every good captain would be.
In Udon prison he denies all claims as to knowing any of his crew members. At that moment, Queen is informed that new criminals are being transferred to Udon Prison. Captain Eustass Kid and Hitokiri Kamazo. Kid is behaving in a manner that is not expected of him. He is silent and disturbed. He asks Kamazo, what Kaido did to him, what Orochi did to him and what happened to his crew. The pain in his heart can be conveyed through his tears. A captain who has lost his crew and his first mate has nothing more to lose. Hitokiri Kamazo cries as he faces Eustass Kid. Hitokiri Kamazo is none other than Killer, the first mate of Kid. He was fed the smile fruit and hence lost all emotion in him. Kid is devastated and Luffy seeing this became more enraged.
Back in Saboady Kid, Luffy and Law shared a dream. To find One Piece. It was evident that to mention One Piece in the new world would be the power to take over it. They all had dreams similar to each other. Kaido imprisoned him and his crew and took away everything he held dear.
Luffy being witness to this gets enraged and demands Queen to restart the Sumo Inferno. It is an attempt to take out his anger and to develop his skill to take down Kaido and Orochi.
The anime is picking up the pace and a lot of epic scenes are on its way in the upcoming episodes.
Hello Everyone! Welcome back to another fun-filled anime review.
Eichiro Oda has been pulling all the stops in writing the Wano war arc. Every week a lot of twists and turns come up to excite One PIece fans. This week is no different. Let’s dive into Chapter 990 of One Piece.
Kaido goes against the whole mink tribe. As strong as he is it is a tedious task to go against the ‘Sulong’ transformed creatures. Even Jack, one of Kaido’s commanders gets what he deserves. As Kinemom gets ready to attack Jack, he is interrupted by Nekomushi and Dogstorm. They tell him that they will take care of Jack.
Jack is the pirate who decimated Zou in search of Raizo. He killed many of the mink members and destroyed their village. There is a long due of vengeance left and Oda offers up the fiendish foe to his grave. They tackle Jack ferociously. This part was especially satisfying because he got paid back for the atrocious crimes he had committed.
At the performance stage, Queen and King discuss the inmates who escaped Udon Prison. Old Man Hyogor and a lot of samurai imprisoned for rebelling against Orochi were imprisoned down there. Now all of them want revenge for the injustice caused to them. Monkey D Luffy leads the whole alliance.
King contact the tobbi-roppo. He explains that the situation has changed and there are 5000 members of the resistance attacking Kaido’s army of 30000 people. The odds of that are unprecedented but is in the favor of Luffy’s alliance.
A few moments before that Hawkins acts suspicious of X Drake and thinks that he might betray them. He tells him that if you are going to betray them, you should do it now. He prophesizes using his cards that there is a 1% chance of someone surviving the next day.
King explains that capturing Yamato is no longer a priority. Stopping the straw hats from heading over to Kaido is their current objective now. Everyone gets ready to attack the alliance.
Who’s who approaches X-Drake. He is also a traitor like X- Drake and has a goal to eliminate someone from inside Kaido’s organization. He wants to kill Queen and asks for X- Drake’s help.
As King looks into the performance stage, The straw hats and the Yakuza push forward to defeat the giants. The Yakuza faced with a predicament have to face Orochi’s ninja forces as well as the giants. They assure that they will take the straw hats to where they need to go and tell them to reserve their strength.
Unlike any shonen character, we know the Strawhats don’t do that. Each one of them is a monster, and the stamina and energy are unparalleled to anything in this world. During the Thriller Bark arc, the straw hats face Oars, a giant creature who was similar to these creatures. All of them together defeated him and almost got killed but the times have changed now. The Strawhats members have one more person now and their power level has tripled and quadrupled immensely.
Luffy, Zoro, and JInbe move to attack. Zoro slashes and dices, Jinbe stops the monsters’ metal club with his bare hands and Luffy goes Gear fourth and takes the monster out. The straw hats remember their time together in thriller bark which was a long time ago. We have never got the Strawhats together like this ever since Fishman arc. The hype is real and the straw hats are not messing around. This war is taking a twist for the better. Oda Senpai, Thank you!!!!. Thank you for the wonderful memories.
Drake has the living daylights knocked out of him by Queen. Whos WHo double-crossed Drake and sided with Queen. He might as well be executed at this point but he transforms and tries to escape. He thinks to himself, is there even a way to escape from this hell hole?
He remembers that Tobi, yes Luffy’s friend from episode 1 of One Piece, told him that Luffy- San is awesome. As he falls from the sky he takes down a giant simultaneously with Luffy.
” Strawhat Luffy !! For Reasons I cannot say now, I am an army of One!! Please let me fight on your side!! ” he says.
Luffy’s reaction to this priceless and I bet the readers had a similar reaction as his. Every page of this manga is filled with twists and turns. I cant wait to see how this spectacle of a story turns out. This could be the greatest story that anyone has ever told.
Until Next time. See ya! Kaizoku Ou ni, Ore was naru!!!!!!
